US running out of timber 1923
The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848 – 1956) Saturday 27 October 1923
Under present conditions the timber supply of America will be exhausted in between 40 and 50 years according to the chief forester of the Department of Agriculture. I was raising it on a tree farm until last year. There are a number of Hardwood sawmills still in operation near my place and they seem to have plenty of logs to cut every time I drive past.
