  1. philjourdan says:

He has 4 more years. But mother nature is not as kind to Hansen as the democrat idiots.

  2. _Jim says:

climate profit … if only their ‘carbon trading exchange’ had been realized …

  3. Brad says:

I like seeing this. When this is brought up in other places, dopes like David Appell say, “He never said that.”

  4. Shazaam says:

They are getting desperate, and the tide of public opinion is turning.

I enjoyed reading this commentator’s brutal flaying of the latest “research”: http://armstrongeconomics.com/2014/07/21/global-warming-crowd-now-argue-it-is-cycles-that-mask-the-warming-trend/

  5. Fred from Canuckistan says:

I predict, using my own home made climate model, that either Hansen or Schmidt will go down in history as the head laughing stock of the AGW era, the Clown Prince of bad science, the poster kiddie for corrupted and useless science.

    Tick tock, tick tock.

    • Tom Bakert says:

I disagree. This honor will be bestowed upon Al Gore.

    • Mike D says:

History is extremely kind to alarmist environmentalists. No one will ever put these guys in a position of answering for their failures. Gore has the most public notoriety, so is most likely to become a laughing stock, but more likely the alarmists will move to another topic. Global Warming will just fade like global cooling did.

    • Chuck L says:

My money is “casualty of the climate wars,” Michael Mann.

  6. kirkmyers says:

Hansen is a grant-seeking pseudo-scientist who saw early on an opportunity to establish himself as the world’s chief global warming alarmist. His high-profile role has been a financial god-send for NASA GISS, bringing in a boat load of research dollars, while putting him on the front pages of major newspapers and landing him lucrative speaking engagements and other perks.

Hansen stopped practicing “science” long ago.

    • Morgan says:

He is an embarrassment to Columbia University. Or maybe it says something about the place.

      • kirkmyers says:

Hansen is politically astute. He knew which way the political winds were blowing. Perhaps, intially, he believed in the global warming theory, which now has been thoroughly discredited.

At some point, one faces a decision. Should I compromise my integrity (which, for a well-adjusted adult, isn’t for sale), or should I bend and sway in the direction of the political winds. The enticement is huge: There is money to be made, front pages to be had, and perks and privileges to be bestowed.

Hansen chose to throw away the one brave and humanistic characteristic that no one can give you, and no one can take away: integrity. He shamed himself. And, in the process, gave science (or whatever he practices) a black eye.

        • Bill_W says:

Hansen is a fanatic who believes coal trains are death trains and has been willing to get himself arrested on multiple occasions. On the other hand, at least he realizes nuclear is still a good option.

  7. Mel Byrd says:

Looks like some of that warm Arctic air is about to drop down in the form of another polar vortex, See NOAA long range:

  8. Mike says:

    The Earth has a fever!

  9. tom0mason says:

    Ode to the soothsayer.

What say the soothsayer, the Hansen one?
What says the cloudy skys be gone.
And looks at searing heated seas.
To tempest blue steam we would be.
But no soothsayer, wrong are thee!
Profit not you by foul prophecy.
When CO2 would cool the skies.
As ice damns the evil of your eyes.

  10. jimash1 says:

    hmmmm “prophet” eh ?
    say no more.

  11. cardo says:

Darn! Missed it by that much!

  12. MrX says:

The Arctic *IS* ice free. The models say so. Reality is a pesky thing that only deniers mention. /sarc

  13. B says:

Doomsday prophets are never wrong, they just push out doomsday a few more years.

After 30 solid years of constant doomsday predictions by alarmist climatologists, predictions that didn’t even come close to coming true, they should be entirely discredited. Yet we are supposed to listen to them because if we don’t we oppose science. emotional religious authoritarian nonsense.

  14. Andy says:

Well it certainly is not going to be ice free in 2014, 2015 etc etc . I am not sure why they came up with such ideas, even looking at the downward trend graphs and extrapolating there was no way it was going to be.

    Andy
