Sea level at Baltimore, like the rest of the Northeastern US appears to have been rising at a fairly steady rate for well over a century. There has been no acceleration, and the fastest apparent rise rate occurred prior to 1950. In fact, almost all of the apparent sea level rise is due to land subsidence.
Baltimore sea level is rising at about the same rate as it was in 1910, when global temperatures were supposedly cold and falling. Obviously what is happening in Baltimore has nothing to do with global warming.
Sea level in California isn’t rising at all. Obviously what is happening at Baltimore is not a global event.
There isn’t one shred of evidence linking rising sea levels in Maryland to “global warming” yet the author writes page after page based on that thesis. These people make Monty Python witch burners look like serious scientists.

Rising seas in Maryland are proof of global warming, and falling seas in Alaska and Norway are proof of global cooling.

Ron Cassie writing for Baltimore Magazine tells us:
Due to the region’s geology and Atlantic Ocean currents, sea levels in the Chesapeake Bay are rising twice as fast as the global average and are projected to jump by as much as two feet in the next 35 years, and up to five feet or more by the end of the century.
Two feet over the next 35 years comes to an average rate of over 17 mm/yr.
Five feet by the end of the century comes to almost 18 mm/yr.
Anyone with some curiosity and modest Excel skills can verify those numbers

I spent my summers on the Eastern shore of the Chesapeake as a kid in the 1960s and 70s. I recently returned there with my own kids and could not observe any change in the level of the bay relative to the landmarks I knew as a kid.
Due to the prevailing westerly winds and the waves they kick up, especially in storms, erosion on the Eastern shore is a real problem. But it has nothing to due with sea level rise. It has been going on for eons. It is a “horizontal” problem, not a “vertical” one.
If you read James Michener’s historical novel “Chesapeake”, set on the Eastern shore and written in the 1970s, this erosion is a recurring theme in the book. As one of his carefully researched books, he uses historical records to show how this erosion has been a problem at least ever since Europeans settled there. IIRC, the book ends with one of the colonial plantation mansions falling into the bay.

Curious that the CDAS map shows the Arctic temperature spiking wildly at the end of December, while DMI shows it falling to normal during the same period:

This is the result of cherry picking. Just like the jerks who made up the story that last year was the Warmest Year EVAH…they then produced a short, short list of the ‘hottest ever’ spots which were of course, Australia and the edge of Southern California (aka:LA).
So with this rising seas nonsense they do the same, ignoring places where the land is rising and focusing only on the couple of places where it is sinking. Totally disregarding natural changes in sea fronts caused by currents shifting the sand banks and of course, tectonic plate activity which causes some places to sink and others to rise.
Lisbon, Portugal, once plunged into the oceans, killing many people, several hundred years ago and that was plate tectonics. The tsunami that wrecked part of Japan and Indonesia, both were tectonic movement moments which caused a sudden fall in elevation of land masses of considerable size.
It’s worse than cherry picking, it’s an outright lie. When a boat sinks, there is no ‘sea level rise’ involved. It sinks, pure and simple. Subsidence is land sinking, pure and simple. It’s not sea level rise.
They are touting the same claims of sea level rise for Norfolk, Virginia, just around the bay. Strangely, no such claims are being made for the city of Virginia Beach, right next to Norfolk.
