If the Republican leadership had any brains, they would seize the initiative about shutting down Obama’s dictatorship.
- Make clear they will not put up with it
- Make clear that his executive actions are illegal
- Make clear weeks in advance that they will fully fund DHS, but will not fund Obama’s illegal immigration action
- Make clear that it is Obama refusing to sign the DHS funding bill, and thus shutting down DHS
And today :
Republican lawmakers leaving a closed-door strategy meeting on Tuesday said the House would seek to pass amendments to the core funding bill to deny money to implement Obama’s November executive order lifting the threat of deportation to millions of undocumented immigrants. Republicans claim the order is illegal.
“Our goal here is to fund the Department of Homeland Security. And our second goal is to stop the president’s executive overreach,” Boehner told reporters.

If the order is undone, then Obama gets to protect his constituency from a huge influx of labor and wage depression and also pander to Latinos by slamming those nasty Republicans for undoing his good works. Divide and conquer, the plan all along.
To expect any form of altruism from the GOP or any other politician would be a severe case of myopia. We should have take President Eisenhower’s advice; we have to stop the “revolving doors” in and out of public trust positions….into and out of the corporations they “grease” with policy. What happened to the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act (STOK)? They passed it, signed it into law, and are quietly gutting it. Honestly America, they are killing us with their power.

I wish our government was set up as a lottery system where random individuals, not those elected, became federal congressmen** and the states still selected senators.
**Limited to those who have served in the Armed Forces, have never been on welfare or employed in government or government contracts. Also any congressman or senator who takes any sort of ‘bribe’ ends up with a mandatory ten years in jail.

Obama is flooding the country with uneducated Latinos, and the Republicans are flooding the country with a million foreign students each year and now an unlimited number of foreigners with advanced degrees. If the foreigners get all the low skill and high skill jobs, I guess Americans can all fight over low-wage jobs as baristas and Uber drivers, or sell each other Beanie Babies on Craigslist?
