New York Times – The Ultimate Slimeball Newspaper

ScreenHunter_6139 Jan. 17 15.36 2014 Breaks Heat Record, Challenging Global Warming Skeptics – NYTimes.com

The New York Times “challenges skeptics” with a wildly fraudulent article – and then doesn’t give any skeptics the opportunity to respond.

Just how slimy can a newspaper get?

Slimier. It is the NY Crimes after all.

  2. As I said before, 2014 is the warmest year but 2015 is measuring up to be even warmer.

Surprisingly, the NY Times dropped the ball and was scooped by the CS Monitor on the story about 2015, and they even have the video:

    http://www.csmonitor.com/Environment/Global-Warming/2015/0116/2014-warmest-year-on-record-Will-2015-top-it-video

  3. Dave says:

I posted a comment with a link to Gavin’s probabilities of warmest year, it will be interesting to see if I make it through the censors.

It appears they have figured out which side of the street pays better.

I hate to use wikipedia, but this pretty well sums up the NY Times.

This comment by Bob Koss on Jo Nova’s thread on the topic deserves a wider audience. ( Bob is from the USA )

    Don’t believe the record temperatures.

I ran a file comparator over both the unadjusted and adjusted files GHCN produces for both the 15th and 16th of Jan.

Between the Jan 15th and 16th they added no new usable data to the GHCN unadjusted file. There were 3 months of data added for 2014, but they were all immediately marked defective.

To build their adjusted file they start with the cleaned(no defects) unadjusted data. Since that didn’t change, their adjusted file should have stayed the same for both the 15th and 16th. It didn’t. They changed 18656 lines on the 16th. Over 200,000 months of data. Those figures are since the 19th century. All changes were in the US, Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas. Nowhere else. You Aussies didn’t even make it to the finals. 🙂

GISS also uses the GHCN adjusted data, so they can’t claim independence.

They have been busy beavers since at least the 6th of Jan. removing and inserting data all over the world. Pretty sure you were included in the preliminary rounds. 🙂 “

  9. But skeptical, thoughtful and well informed conservatives were given the opportunity to respond to the article. Here is one of them:

    Timothy C
    Queens, New York

Although I’m a conservative, I’m beyond convinced that the majority of warming observed in the past half-century is overwhelmingly due to human activities. I am surprised that more conservatives do not accept this and move on to what we can do about it. Firstly, I consider it a serious issue of national security. As the world warms, there will be more and more refugees fleeing droughts, pestilence, and extreme weather, worsening conflicts across the globe. That’s not just bad for those caught in the middle–it’s also sure to burden the United States with significant foreign policy challenges and the costs to deal with it.

Second, I have a young daughter. I do not want her to live in a world where her opportunities are diminished because of the stupid mistakes of our generation.

I think the part of the answer is to turn to business for the innovation we need to overcome this. Expand tax incentives for renewable energy generation and clean energy initiatives. As a side effect, this will wean us off any residual reliance we have on oil from problematic areas like Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, etc. It will also create a good deal of well-paying middle class jobs here at home–jobs that can’t be outsourced, e.g., installers of solar panels have to work here in our communities and neighborhoods.

America needs to be a leader in this. We achieved the Manhattan project. We landed men on the moon. We can solve this if we’re willing to.

    So there.

And how many true skeptics had their comments delete while this obviously paid troll got his comment posted.

I really really hate the MSM propaganda rags and NYT is one of the worst.

      • B says:

I just put my comment in. I will see if it goes to the trash like my comment that put Krugman in a logical bind yesterday.

Krugman argued that the SNB did something wrong by removing the euro peg (and stop inflating the swiss franc). I commented that by not buying euros the SNB would help the ECB achieve its inflation goal by lowering the demand for euros. That comment was axed. However another much more severe comment on the nature of well paid intellectuals made the cut.

      • richard says:

There are quite a few online newspapers and even alarmist sites that let the skeptic comments through, slowly bit by bit the skeptic few is percolating through. So, Steve, if you ever wonder about where your articles end up- they end up far and wide!!!

      • Byron says:

Gail , a friend of mine is a Vietnam war vet ( Australian army ) and during that period He took some of His leave in the “states” (USA) , He couldn’t believe the crap that the NYT was printing about the war and from then on referred to it as The New Hanoi Times . I don’t think much has changed at NYT , They’re still a propaganda arm for any anti-American/Western civilization causes that they can find to nail Their colours to .

        • gator69 says:

Hey Byron! Over here you can have two versions of reality, the reality as portrayed by the NYT, NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, etc (what we call Mainstream Media, or MSM)… vs something closer to reality, FOX News. Now we have The Blaze as well, which is likely the closest to reality that we have yet seen. But I remember at the height of the Iraq war, depending on the network you watched, you could get two very different versions of the same war. And oddly, now that Skeeter is in charge, we no longer receive daily body counts and totals from the MSM like we did when Bush was in office.

My dad died as a result of his service in Viet Nam, and because of this I am very sensitive to war reporting. I was a regular TIME magazine reader for decades, and cancelled my subscription over their BS Iraq War stories over ten years ago.

        • Gail Combs says:

          Byron,

I realized the whole US MSM was the propaganda army of some group when I received a frantic call from my Mother soon after the Kent State Riots. The riots resulted in unarmed college students to be mowed down by the National Guard. First the MSM billed the riots as Vietnam War protest but they were actually about the town denying ex-soldiers, some married, the right to vote if they were at Kent State full time on the GI Bill. An old boy friend was at that time married with two kids. his wife could vote but he could not. He was in the riots.

To lend veracity to the lie that the riots were about the war and not about dis-enfranchising war heroes, news stations were all showing film footage of a massive riot at my big ten University a few weeks later. I was on campus from 7 AM til 5 PM — THERE WAS NO RIOT — none — nothing. The report was made out of whole cloth but was NOT shown in the University home state. My roomie called her parents and they had seen no such report. Neither had the parents of our friends across the hall.

Twenty years later I was at ground zero for another critically timed MSM fabrication. The owner of the Corporation I worked for had stepped on the toes of Shell Oil and BP Oil scooping up some companies they had targeted and getting big enough to be a challenge. So they set out to bankrupt him via the Polystrene Scare. It was timed to hit nation wide just two weeks before Sweetheart Plastics, McDonalds and Novacor were about to announce via TV commercials the groundbreaking of a plant that would recycle post consumer plastic from McDonalds using handicapped labor. ALL of the allegations against Polystrene were false!!!!

Recently I found out it is the Banksters and their buddies who own the MSM and have for a century. link and link and link

        • gator69 says:

Don’t give the MSM all the credit! Loonies of a feather squawk together…

China controls the solar panel markets. Sheesh. That letter from ‘concerned conservative’ is total hogwash written by a liberal mouthpiece.

    • RealOldOne2 says:

      Skeptical well informed conservatives?
It was probably written by a leftist liberal as propaganda ploy.

      • Gail Combs says:

Standard KGB psy-ops tactic used to insert misinformation into the MSM when they do not want people to know it came from them.

The ‘AIDS was a US bio-weapon’ is a classic example.

      • Written by a leftist liberal as propaganda ploy?

Impossible. Why would he lie to us? And how could a leftist liberal pull off sounding like a skeptical, thoughtful and well informed conservative rather than the gullible, ignorant progressive moron he is?

We should ask him. How many thoughtful New York Times-reading conservatives, let alone named Timothy C, could there be in Queens?

  10. SMS says:

In the year 2150, adjustments will have reached 25 degrees to the raw data to maintain the myth of “the hottest year eveeeeer!”. During that same year more people will die from exposure to cold temperatures than ever experienced at any time in the known past. The government will make new regulations restricting the amount of electricity and gas you can use in your house to keep from freezing. They will justify these restrictions based on the “warmest year eveeeeer!” and their computer models.

  11. emsnews says:

For pity’s sake, the New York Times owners are original and ongoing BILDERBERG gangsters! They are the official organ for that top secret society that plans what happens next. These guys created the EU. They created the UN.

They still meet regularly to plot what to do next. Taxing energy is a top priority to provide them more funds. So it has to be engineered somehow via the ‘planet is warming’ which has stopped working so they have to blast this insane propaganda to keep the farce going or they won’t get their regressive tax.
