One Year Since The New York Times Announced The End Of Snow

I was floored by how much snow had already disappeared from the planet, not to mention how much was predicted to melt in my lifetime

The End of Snow? – NYTimes.com

Winter snow cover has soared to record levels over the past decade. As always, the New York Times is lying – and saying the exact opposite of the truth.

Thank you, Steven, for holding their feet to the fire!

Big Brother is going down, and you deserve a great deal of the credit.

  2. gofer says:

“The planet has warmed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit since the 1800s, and as a result, snow is melting. In the last 47 years, a million square miles of spring snow cover has disappeared from the Northern Hemisphere. Europe has lost half of its Alpine glacial ice since the 1850s, and if climate change is not reined in, two-thirds of European ski resorts will be likely to close by 2100.”

The author of this is a writer for a skiing magazine, parroting the propaganda.

  3. docfjs says:

New York City is going to get a foot of snow and they are closing down everything. If this happened in Buffalo or Salt Lake City you would never hear about it. In Salt Lake two to three feet in the morning and another foot in the afternoon was common and I know cause I had to blow it off my driveway. Nothing ever closed down, no schools or businesses.
I think New Yorkers suffer from a bad case of Chicken Little syndrome

    • Ernest Bush says:

It was the city government of New York that went berserk. I’m sure those who lost wages because of the shut down would rather have put up with a little inconvenience on the way to work. Even foot traffic was banned from the sidewalks. Frankly, I think it was just one more instance of citizens being trained into total compliance by socialist run cities back East.

However 12 month average shows no change. Just weather.

What is interesting is the snow data starts in the depth of the cold era of the mid 20th Century when everyone was worried about a return to ice age conditions.*** The data reaches a low point in 2012 and now seems to have plateaued as the PDO has started to turn cool.

Also the warm water from the 1997/1998 El Niño moved from Indonesia to the coast of the Americas. It then sloshed back east and finally traveled up the coast of Asia towards Alaska. Someone mentioned this takes several years and you can now see that ‘blob’ of warm water from the super El Nino off the coast of Alaska.
November 3, 2014 Gulf of Alaska waters warmest in 17 years of measurements

****The late 1960s, early 1970s cold spell:
The 1974 CIA report: “A Study of Climatological Research as it Pertains to Intelligence Problems”

“… Since 1972 the grain crisis has intensified…. Since 1969 the storage of grain has decreased from 600 million metric tons to less than 100 million metric tons – a 30 day supply… many governments have gone to great lengths to hide their agricultural predicaments from other countries as well as from their own people…

  6. SMS says:

With the kind of commitment that DeBlasio and Cuomo have to CAGW, they should have sold all the snow plows in New York a long time ago. That would have sealed their fate. Two pieces of toast.
