The author of this is a writer for a skiing magazine, parroting the propaganda.
New York City is going to get a foot of snow and they are closing down everything. If this happened in Buffalo or Salt Lake City you would never hear about it. In Salt Lake two to three feet in the morning and another foot in the afternoon was common and I know cause I had to blow it off my driveway. Nothing ever closed down, no schools or businesses.

It was the city government of New York that went berserk. I’m sure those who lost wages because of the shut down would rather have put up with a little inconvenience on the way to work. Even foot traffic was banned from the sidewalks. Frankly, I think it was just one more instance of citizens being trained into total compliance by socialist run cities back East.

What is interesting is the snow data starts in the depth of the cold era of the mid 20th Century when everyone was worried about a return to ice age conditions.*** The data reaches a low point in 2012 and now seems to have plateaued as the PDO has started to turn cool.

Also the warm water from the 1997/1998 El Niño moved from Indonesia to the coast of the Americas. It then sloshed back east and finally traveled up the coast of Asia towards Alaska. Someone mentioned this takes several years and you can now see that ‘blob’ of warm water from the super El Nino off the coast of Alaska.
