When i went to college it was very evident that the meterology department was disproportionately populated with pot-heads.
I don’t remember which school at IU in Bloomington, IN had the most pot heads for sure. But it had to be either the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism or the Sociology department. At least the grad students at the Journalism school took baths, the Sociology department staff seemed to consistently have a problem with personal hygiene.
My experience was that most meteorology students were washed up athletes. The stoners were in the sociology, journalism, and political science departments.
Buddy of mine that went there for Forensic sciences when I was there graduated and ended up flying A-10s for a living.
The sports writer for the campus newspaper at U of Md in the early seventies said he wrote his best column while he was high. Nobody bothered to tell him the truth, figuring it was a waste of time (he needed a different day job ). The front of the journalism building was one of the favorite hangouts for sitting in the sun getting stoned on wine and marijuana. I have pictures.

I’m envious. I wish we would get at least a 3 foot snow fall where I live. I like snow and I love using my 8-horses of snow blowing machine. Only had one occasion to use it this season so far and it was for a measly 4 inches.

That’s a really good question. The manual gives the gross torque as 9 lb-ft, but unlike my old thrower which listed its HP on the body (6.5), this thrower has no HP spec that I can find. But it is more than my old thrower.
I bought it new in the crate from a guy who bids on storage lockers, and paid half price.

At this point I am wishing for a glacier sitting on Boston, Chicago and Detroit. It would be no loss and might give a needed kick in the pants to the whiny brats who have never grown up. (And yes I have lived there).
I have a 16 HP DR brush cutter. In the winter I remove the cutter and replace it with a snow-thrower attachment. But, since my driveway to the road is somewhat longer than 1400 ft, and I have internal driveways to clear, the DR is mostly a backup to my 36 HP Kubota. tractor. Despite being “well equipped,” this year it has been difficult to keep up with the snow removal. Raking roofs is especially difficult once the snow gets as high as the walls!
I married my present wife in 1993, that winter we had a house in Fargo North Dakota and my wife was from South Dakota and it was her first winter in Fargo, she was totally unprepared for it, she bough a full length down coat and when she was talking to her sister, her sister ask what Mark was doing and when Joan(my wife ) replied raking the roof, her sister figured that Joan was pulling one over on her, sadly she was not, that year Fargo got 60 inches of snow that was only a precursor to the winter of 1997 that we got 117 inches. Try to explain to some one in Arizona the the high for the day is going to be -22 F. Then tell them a few day later that you unzipped you coat at -19 because you got to warm snow blowing out the driveway. I will say winter have improved greatly since now I live 1800 miles away from Fargo, it way 80 degrees today in Mesa AZ. Damn it hard giving up winter. Although I was in Fargo last summer and it look to me they were have a nice winter then.
I am seriously considering “giving up” winter. If this pattern continues, moving will be way easier than rebuilding and adapting.

Seattle is currently enjoying spring weather a little early. However, today’s 57 degree high is 4 degrees F below the record. I suspect that there hasn’t been a record high temperature set this winter. It has been in the mid to low eighties, mostly compliments of the same high pressure ridge affecting them, in Yuma. We aren’t close to any record highs , either. Today it is supposed to hit 87. The record is 90, set in 1981.
And what does UAH and RSS have to say? It says that anyone who claims this is the hottest year or warmest winter is FOS.
The land record at practically any place in the U.S. will challenge that finding, also.

I do not underestimate the banksters and am expecting them to implement their world gulag (worker’s paradise /s) unless unlikely fortuitous or extreme calamitous events intervene. Ineffective armed resistance is likely, but it is something they look forward to (despite claims to the contrary) as a means of increasing profits and control while blaming the resistance for the deaths of inconvenient opponents. I expect them to try to make things so chaotic that the average person will feel lucky if accepted into one of their sustainable communities (gulags). They have been co-operating for over one hundred years. I do not see them turning on each other so much as jocking for economic advantage. I also think they really do not want an all out nuclear war.

OK there is a reasonable disagreement here. I’m not sure who is correct, and I guess it doesn’t matter. What happens after banksters have defeated all opposition and established full control is irrelevant to current bankster opponents since most of them will be dead then.
What might be interesting is finding a way to defeat them before they achieve full control. That would require having a leak proof force large enough to hit all of them “time on target” and the intel to know where all the targets are in real time. Not sure that’s even possible, but if it is, there are probably less than five people in the world who command the resources necessary and they all work for the enemy. Setting up a new force with this capability (under the radar) seems implausible.
I very much doubt we have any idea of who the actual power is. (Bilderberg attendees are 2nd and 3rd rank) And as you say they hold all the chess pieces.

Some calcs using USCRN data
If we take the 3 month periods, NDJ, ending J 2015 is 5th warmest in the 11 year data period.
If we take the 2 month periods, DJ, ending J 2015 is 3rd warmest in the 11 year period.
From what I hear from over there, Feb 2015 is likely to knock the 3 month period, DJF, ending F 2015, way down the list !!
Salt Lake City has been very warm the last month, but December was bitterly cold and windy. Also, our snow pack is at 85% of normal, which they didn’t report. Instead they quoted the low snowpack of California.
This report is cherry picking the most alarmist pieces of information without reporting the whole story.

When your only climate grid is the size of the US it is possible to say ridiculous things in the name of science. Smart people know that weather is regional and really smart people know climate is regional.
Climate scientists have too many among their number who are apparently too stupid for the classic sciences and have jumped on climate science as a last gasp way to feed their ego and to make their parents feel good about the money they wasted on educating their spawn. No other explanation makes as much sense.
There may come a time when a climate scientist would rather tell people he or she is a bookie or a numbers runner or prostitute than to tell them the truth about what he or she really does.

I have found a way to read all these alarmist predictions without losing my mind.
Every time an article says “climate change” replace it with “a lack of unicorns” then the articles make sense. For example, “climate change is making the ocean’s more acidic” becomes “a lack of unicorns is making the oceans more acidic”. Now the phrase makes sense since there are no unicorns and the ocean is clearly alkaline.
Isn’t that backwards? Shouldn’t it be just ‘unicorns’ instead of ‘lack of unicorns’? Other than that minor issue, I thought it very funny. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, some areas in the West have been warm the past few months, but the warming there pales in comparison to the record-cold weather impacting the Northeast, parts of the Midwest, and now the Southeast.
