There is a 12 year lag between the peak in solar activity in 1991 (See Fig 14 in the previous link)

There is a breakdown through an important threshold in solar activity in 2005-6 ( See Fig 13) which should show up as a steepening in the cooling trend in 2017-2018

All I have been able to say about the climate so far is that if we assume it correct to view climate as a system trying to achieve equilibrium which suits the conditions for life (and perhaps that is a mistaken assumption*) then from a control point of view it would be impossible to even think about defining any parameters without paying close attention to the sun’s activity
*We do tend to have this notion, perhaps from a religious standing, that earth is ‘supposed’ to be ideal for humans and other animals, because ‘a god’ created it for us. That meme sometimes seems to stretch into science too.

Then, in 2003, the same data set, which in their [IPCC’s] publications, in their website, was a straight line—suddenly it changed, and showed a very strong line of uplift, 2.3 mm per year, the same as from the tide gauge. And that didn’t look so nice. It looked as though they had recorded something; but they hadn’t recorded anything. It was the original one which they had suddenly twisted up, because they entered a “correction factor,” which they took from the tide gauge. So it was not a measured thing, but a figure introduced from outside. I accused them of this at the Academy of Sciences in Moscow— I said you have introduced factors from outside; it’s not a measurement. It looks like it is measured from the satellite, but you don’t say what really happened. And they answered, that we had to do it, because otherwise we would not have gotten

I do dowsing. This is how I found my own well on my mountain. The well digger guys thought I was crazy but soon after drilling, the well overflowed and ran overflowing for ten years.
Dowsing requires being VERY relaxed. Any tension and the human interferes with the dowsing.
I’ve always wanted to believe in dowsing….perhaps because if dowsing is real then it is unequivocal proof of the existence of an as yet undefined force of nature….but….I don’t see much proof…

Not personally, but it will definitely show the annual variation caused by the dieback and regrowth of flora and fauna on the planet. It just seems like a no brainer that there is a little overshoot every year of growth and that produces the rising trend we see.
