How Hurricanes Are Affected By Global Warming

This week in 1900, Galveston, Texas was destroyed by a hurricane which killed 10,000 people.  NASA says 1900 was one of the coldest years ever.

After 116 years of unprecedented global warming, this next picture is the total hurricane damage in Florida for the past 10 years and 10 months – during the hottest year ever.

Dude is gonna need a bigger chain saw.

The hysterics from this storm may have been expected, given the fact that entire industries now exist to bring information about weather to us 24/7.
I recall how the weather used to be a three minute segment on the 11:00 o’clock news.
Just imagine what is going to happen the next time we have a year like 2004 or 2005?
I am sure that at some point, there will be a storm which kills several of these guys they send out to stand and broadcast from the place the storm is going to hit directly.
Hell, it may even be this year.
We are way overdue for a direct hit on a major city from a cat 5 storm or five.

  2. Steve Case says:

Yeah Tony, your view point on the matter will fall on the deaf ears of those who decide what the public needs to know.

  3. Me says:

LOL, and it was one of Hitlers cars!

  4. Colorado Wellington says:

It is not an accident that Mother Earth in her fury against man destroyed a Volkswagen Beetle but it’s not Schicklgruber’s fault. Gaia showed her sadistic fetish streak when she made a stand for climate and squashed the evil automaker’s iconic implement.

Hunt, Mosher and fellow Progressives everywhere rejoiced at the sight of environmental justice:

Not Just Consumer Fraud, VW Scandal Called ‘Crime Against Climate’
CommonDreams — Breaking News & Views for the Progressive Community

What Volkswagen did wasn’t just consumer fraud, it was a crime against our climate and against future generations relying on us for a livable planet,” said Peter Galvin, director of programs at CBD. “The public has a right to know exactly what greenhouse gas pollution was released and in what amounts. What’s clear, though, is that this will have a far-reaching effect on our clean air and climate.”

But environmental justice is just part of social justice. Audi, BMW and Mercedes are next:

Floods, Wildfires, Extreme Heat: Is The Climate Fighting Back Against The Fossil Fuel Industry?

A recent bout of extreme weather and related disasters has shown an uncanny preference for wealthy locales with strong connections to the fossil fuel industry.

Louisiana and Texas, the Canadian oil sands and the petro-states of the Persian Gulf have been hit by major storms, wildfires and smothering heatwaves.

Bizarrely, a few of these events even managed to knock out production of fossil fuels – the very thing that may have caused the bad weather in the first place. Call it a case of climate self-defense.

  5. Rah says:

You know there are almost certainly dusty “scientific” papers written years ago on the subject of how human caused climate change has resulted in worse or more frequent hurricanes. Their authors just waiting on the appropriate time to publish.

  6. CheshireRed says:

The Guardian pushing yet more absolute whoppers about sea level rise and storm Hermine.

“Storm surges pushed by Hermine, the hurricane-turned tropical storm that on Sunday was moving up the US eastern seaboard, could be even more damaging than previous such surges because sea levels have risen by a foot due to global warming, climate scientists said.”

  7. AndyG55 says:

“because sea levels have risen by a foot due to global warming, climate scientists said.”

Some nameless climate scientist may have said it, BUT IT IS A DOWNRIGHT LIE.
