    It took Weird just 7 years to go from forever drought to ‘flood control system is struggling to keep up’.

    And this is being sold in the category science.

    But at least the term atmospheric river is great.
    Makes me feel so smart whenever I use it – probably because it took almost 4 decades of climate propaganda to establish it.
    Combined with rain bombs and climate crisis it will open up new ways to scare people.
    I alreadywonder what the next evolutionary step will be to replace this term.

    Thanks for referencing this post! Although I have the feeling I’ve seen it before on your site. If I could find the graph and reference for California’s drought/flood cycles over the past thousand years, I’d post that too.

    As I recall, the last century or so of California’s weather history has shown more precipitation than is typical over the last millennium.
