Conscription will result in an uprising.

These progressives in power don’t understand this point. The people who are effective warriors fight for pride of country and to secure freedom for their families. If you are embarrassed by your country and have had your freedom taken from you by your own government, you wont stand and fight anymore.
The UK can field an army of maybe 30K, the Russians have 10X that many in reserve. But why not, what’s left of the NATO armed and trained Ukrainian army is mostly foreigners anyway. When they invaded Kursk with their “elite” reserves, most of whom are now dead, the intercepted radio signals were in English, French, and Polish. If only the NATOstan “coalition” could get Finland on board they might have a chance to push back the evil Russkies and prevent them from taking over Europe. If Russia/Putin present an “existential threat” to Western Europe and the goal is to “rebuild the Soviet Empire”, why haven’t they over run and occupied Ukraine and started building up forces on the Polish borders? There is no way Ukraine could defend against such a feared military capable of over running Western Europe. And, why has Putin limited the ground war to Eastern Ukraine?
I am no Putin, nor Ukraine, supporter but, logically, it appears to me Putin has been an honest broker in declaring his end goal is (and has been) a buffer zone between NATO and Russia. if Ukraine is promised NATO membership then that DMZ is the Eastern Oblasts.
