“Since Christmas it’s been snowing all the time and it’s been awesome. They have some fresh snow and a lot of soft stuff still around. Not too many people and it’s an awesome day,” said Dana.
We have already 18 snowy days this year in Fort Collins, and we are out on the plains.
Loveland isn’t the only resort to have reached the 300 inch mark, or 25 feet of snow so far this year. Breckenridge is one and other resorts like Arapahoe Basin and Copper Mountain are very close.
“We always close the first weekend in May, so May 4 is our closing day, but conditions are going to get better. As I said, some of the best conditions we’ve ever seen here ever in our 76 years of skiing and snowboarding, and we’re going to finish on a high note, that’s for sure,” said Sellers.
Copper Mountain said on Sunday that it’s already half a foot ahead of its annual average.

Do the ski resorts really close in early May, even if there is plenty of snow?
In California, resorts like Mammoth stay open to the July 4th weekend if there is enough snow. After really wet El Nino winters, they could keep some runs open all summer, but they say there are not enough people interested after that…
