The current stand-off is dangerous for society.
To avoid an explosive confrontation, six common goals of AGW believers and skeptics were suggested in 2011 as a basis for compromise:
1. We all want world peace.
2. An end to nationalistic warfare.

To defuse the current situation, it might be helpful to acknowledge that

8. Society would not be served by retaliating or punishing those scientists who, after 1945, followed orders to hide the source of energy in cores of heavy atoms and stars – neutron repulsion.
I.e., consider the possibility that world leaders and their armies of consensus scientists are like a powerful, cornered animal.
For the sake of society, we need to give them room to back out of the situation without fear of retaliation.

There he goes again; he can’t resist playing to his crowd by drawing a “red line”. We know how this will end–he will run off to California to play golf and raise money, and his critics will be charged with “misunderstanding” what he really meant (which, his defenders will unanimously proclaim, will demonstrate his superior moral position to one and all). As I have said for the last 6 years (ever since the Rev. Wright episode, which definitively revealed him for what he is, a gutless denier of personal responsibility for his actions), he has no true character at all.
If there is any attack upon critics of the climate alarmism on April 1st, it will immediately get out, and give him a black eye he won’t soon get over. He has painted himself into another corner–a pathological predisposition on his part.
Your problem is you don’t understand how SMART he is. Valerie Jarrett says he’s so special, he’s been bored most of his life; he needs a challenge to really engage.
