Unprecedented Heatindexwave

2011

The heat dome that is gripping much of the nation has 141 million people in more than two dozen states under heat advisories, while the toll in heat-related deaths stands at 22 — and there is no immediate end to the scorching temperatures in sight.

Heat indexes from 105 to 115 degrees are expected from the Midwest to the East Coast on Thursday.

Patchy Fog & 101°F tomorrow. My mind is blown. I seriously don’t recall weather like that prior to 1960.

I got two inches of drought today and the temperature has not got much above 80! But I am in the Drought plagued South!
The weather man said this morning to expect rain before 9:30 and after 2:00 pm. It started raining at about 10 and stopped at 1:30. I guess the coin flip exercise was off a tad.

No doubt, it’s f’n hot in Chicago.
Yet, ComEd’s nuke plants are supplying my a/c unit with reasonably priced power, sans CO2.

Uh huh. How was health care, medical transportation back then? How about air conditioning penetration into homes and businesses? And, no doubt, OSHA was enforcing workplace regulations to make sure that shade and water were available for workers.

    Morons.
