I got two inches of drought today and the temperature has not got much above 80! But I am in the Drought plagued South!
The weather man said this morning to expect rain before 9:30 and after 2:00 pm. It started raining at about 10 and stopped at 1:30. I guess the coin flip exercise was off a tad.

Yet, ComEd’s nuke plants are supplying my a/c unit with reasonably priced power, sans CO2.
Uh huh. How was health care, medical transportation back then? How about air conditioning penetration into homes and businesses? And, no doubt, OSHA was enforcing workplace regulations to make sure that shade and water were available for workers.
