On this date in 1954, Fort Scott, Kansas reached 120 degrees, and Pana, Illinois was 115 degrees.
Hottest temperatures at Pana have plummeted since then, now rarely getting over 100F.
More than half of the country was over 100 degrees on that date, from California to New York.
The US was about to get hit by three major hurricanes in 1954, including the last two to hit New England.

Ice loss is about to slow down, because the Hudson Bay has nearly melted out.
Temperatures in the Beaufort Sea are forecast to be cold the rest of the month, making a big melt this summer very unlikely.
It is likely that 2016 will be above 2015 in a couple of weeks, because there is a lot more ice this year in the East Siberian and Chukchi Seas. Note that the much hailed Northern Passage along the Siberian Coast is completely blocked this year, destroying yet another alarmist myth.
The areas where 2015 was ahead of this year, are areas which experienced rapid melting last year after this date.

A few weeks ago experts were telling us that the Arctic sea ice was going to be a record low, or completely ice-free. During May, winds pushed the ice edge back in the Beaufort Sea leading to endless predictions of doom.
Nothing much has changed since then in the Beaufort Sea.

The press is full of fake stories by fake scientists about a fake Greenland meltdown and a fake Arctic sea ice collapse. But that is just how the world works in 2016.

Climate experts now get hysterical about these kinds of temperatures in the Arizona desert – because they don’t actually know anything about climate.
I lived for several years in a 90% black apartment building in Columbia, Maryland. Many of my neighbors moved there to escape gang violence in Baltimore.
My best friend there was a woman from Trinidad and Tobago, who taught for several years in the Baltimore Public Schools. She was constantly abused and threatened by black teenagers, who regularly called her “nigger” and told her to “go back to Africa.” They threw brand new computers on the floor, and refused to learn no matter how much the teacher cared, or how much money the school district spent. Eventually her husband made her quit because she was about to have a nervous breakdown from the constant threats and harassment.
Columbia was established as a place where people of all races and economic groups would get along. It worked very well until Obama was elected and started his endless race baiting – accusing police and white people in general of being racists. I moved away from Columbia last year after being shot at and repeatedly harassed by gangsters. It wasn’t like that before Obama was elected. He created the hostility. The police aren’t racists – Barack Obama is.
We will reject despair in November, by throwing Obama out and voting to Make America Great Again.
NOAA claims that June was hottest ever in the US. In fact, the exact opposite is true.
Averaged over the whole country, only 3.2% of June days were over 100 F, compared to 11% during June 1933.
Only 17.4% of USHCN stations reached 100F, compared to 57.6% during June, 1933.
June, 1933 was an incredibly hot month across the entire US, with temperatures in South Dakota 12 degrees above normal.
June 2016 was not an unusually hot month in the US – but facts don’t matter when your job is propaganda.
