Rand Paul got results from his filibuster.

Attorney General Eric Holder wrote Sen. Rand Paul,R-Ky., to confirm that President Obama does not have the authority to kill an American on U.S. soil in a non-combat situation, Obama’s spokesman announced today.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney quoted from the letter that Holder sent to Paul today. “Does the president have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill an American not engaged in combat on an American soil?” Holder wrote, per Carney. “The answer is no.”

Note that Holder did not rule out other methods of murdering Americans.

I don’t trust anything Obama or Holder say, but having this on the record makes it possible to slow them down a little.

CBS News investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson on Tuesday night reported that the Obama administration has turned over documents relating to the Benghazi terrorist attack to the Senate Intelligence Committee. She made a number of revelations that don’t bode well for the White House via her official Twitter account.

“One source who viewed the docs says someone in federal agency ‘press shop’ was involved in changing the talking points to remove al Qaeda,” Attkisson wrote.

She also reported that an “official familiar with the docs” said there were advanced warnings in the days leading up to the attack, including ones that “specifically warned of an imminent attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi.”

Hi Steve,

I imagine you heard about the latest DC area snow fiasco.  They are already dubbing it “Snowquester”.

Just before the “storm” began, the weather models (about 10 of them) were predicting 8-12″ of snow for downtown DC.  Even the most “bearish” model predicted 5″.  Same models likewise predicted 12-18″ for western suburbs with the most bearish predicting 10″.  They shut down the government, all the schools, etc.

The net result was nothing in downtown DC, an inch of slush where I live in Greenbelt and only 2-3″ in normally snowy western suburbs like Germantown and Dulles Airport.

So we are supposed to believe that similar models that can’t make an accurate 6 hr forecast can make a 50 year forecast?  Give me a break!
