Rising sea levels threaten small Pacific island nations

May 3, 2007

Dire climate change predictions may seem like science fiction in many parts of the world. But in the tiny, sea-swept Pacific nation of Tuvalu, the crisis has already arrived.  Tuvalu consists of nine low-lying atolls totaling just 26 square kilometers, or 10 square miles, and in the past few years the “king tides” that peak in February have been rising higher than ever. Waves have washed over the island’s main roads; coconut trees stand partly submerged; and small patches of cropland have been rendered unusable because of encroaching saltwater.  The government and many experts already assume the worst: Sometime in the next 50 years, if rising sea-level predictions prove accurate, the entire 11,800-strong population will have to be evacuated.

Sea level is not rising at Tuvalu, but facts aren’t important to the left. It is all about finding ways to steal your money and freedom.

Global Warming Brings Nuclear War Closer

Prior to global warming, North Korea was a happy, prosperous, democratic country

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — New satellite images indicate that snow may have slowed North Korea’s rocket launch preparations

South Korean media reports this week quoted unnamed officials in Seoul as saying North Korea had mounted all three stages of the Unha rocket on the launch pad by Wednesday. But snow may have prevented Pyongyang from finishing its work

The Decline And Fall Of Holland

ScreenHunter_331 Dec. 08 09.05

When I was a child, Holland was windmills, tulips and wooden shoes.

Later Holland became free drugs and free sex.

Now Holland is extreme Muslim violence.

Richard Nieuwenhuizen was doing what he loved: watching his son play football and helping out his local club by running the touchline as a volunteer linesman.

On Monday the 41-year-old father’s passion for football cost him his life.

Prosecutors say a group of Nieuw Sloten players surrounded Nieuwenhuizen and kicked and punched him after the match against his son’s team on Sunday . Nieuwenhuizen went home to lie down, and returned later to watch another game, where he collapsed and was rushed to hospital. He died the next day.

That the attackers who have been arrested were three Moroccans, according to the “Algemeen Dagblad”, certainly does not make the case any easier. According to an Interior Ministry report from November 2011, 40 per cent of all Moroccan immigrants aged between 12 and 24 were arrested, sentenced or charged within the last five years. In city districts where people of Moroccan descent form a majority of the inhabitants, youth criminality already reaches 50 per cent.

By 2050, Holland will be majority Muslim.

Sea Level Declining In Florida For 15 Years

ScreenHunter_331 Dec. 08 07.54

University of Colorado satellite data shows that there has been little change in Florida sea level since 1997. The data above is the average of sea level at the five lat/lon pairs below.

(28.5, 281.5) (26.5, 281.5)  (24.5, 278.5)  (26.5, 276.5) (28.5, 277.5)

Experts say that Florida is being drowned by rising seas

ScreenHunter_331 Dec. 08 08.04

The subject of global warming has become so politically unpalatable over the last few years that neither party mentions it much anymore.  A conference on climate change sponsored by Florida Atlantic University made it clear that ignoring the threat has done nothing to slow it down — particularly in South Florida, which has more people and property at risk by rising sea levels than any place in the country.  The two-day summit in Boca Raton, which wrapped up Friday, painted a bleak and water-logged picture for much of coastal Florida.  Under current projections, the Atlantic Ocean would swallow much of the Florida Keys in 100 years.

Rising seas mean shrinking South Florida future, experts say – Environment – MiamiHerald.com

At the current rate of sea level rise, Florida will drown in infinity years.

Most Transparent President In History To Hold Secret Inauguration

The White House Correspondents Association is strongly urging the Obama administration to allow press access to the president’s official swearing-in ceremony on Jan. 20, following indications from inauguration committee officials that the event could potentially be closed to the press.

“Call me shell-shocked. I’m stunned that this is even an issue; it boggles the mind,” NBC News White House correspondent Chuck Todd told POLITICO. “This is not their oath, this is the constitutional oath. It’s not for them. It’s for the public, the citizens of the United Sates. It just boggles the mind — How is this even a debate?”

Insurance Companies Clueless About Climate

In 1957, Hartford Insurance predicted a permanent drought for southwest Texas.

At the time the prediction was made, Texas was experiencing a seven year long extreme drought – the worst in Texas history.

Immediately after Don Friedman made his ingenious forecast of permanent drought,  the drought broke and Texas became very wet.

Insurance companies make pessimistic climate forecasts because it gives them an excuse to raise their premiums and make more money. They have a blatant conflict of interest, as does the government – who want to raise taxes.
