Hank Johnson Says We Need An Amendment To Block The First Amendment

“We need a constitutional amendment that would allow the legislature to control the so-called free speech rights of corporations,” Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) was quoted as saying by CNS News.

Alarmist Pussies

There have been quite a few commenters here recently saying that I have no credentials to do complex mathematical operations like counting record highs and lows.

Assuming that they passed second grade and know how to count, why don’t they prove me wrong – instead of making childish ad hom attacks.

Barack Obama – The Gift That Keeps On Giving

I am starting a new programming contract with a Canadian company, and they are restricting the number of hours I can work for now, because “they don’t know what is going to happen to exchange rates as the fiscal cliff deadline approaches.”

The most important thing to remember is that criticizing Obama is racist.

Hansen Caught In Another Big Lie

Paul Homewood reminded me of the EPA graph below, which shows that heatwaves during the 1930s were much worse than recent years.

Hansen is of course undaunted by facts, and is claiming that bad heatwaves never used to happen.

The distribution of seasonal mean temperature anomalies has shifted toward higher temperatures and the range of anomalies has increased.

An important change is the emergence of a category of summertime extremely hot outliers, more than three standard deviations (?) warmer than climatology.

This hot extreme, which covered much less than 1% of Earth’s surface in the period of climatology, now typically covers about 10% of the land area.

We conclude that extreme heat waves, such as that in Texas and Oklahoma in 2011 and Moscow in 2010, were “caused” by global warming, because their likelihood was negligible prior to the recent rapid global warming. We discuss practical implications of this substantial, growing climate change.

US Politics | AMERICAblog News: Quarter to half of species on earth may die from global warming

This is complete nonsense. According to the EPA graph below, the heatwaves of the 1930s were more than three standard deviations warmer than climatology.

USEPA

Heat waves occurred with high frequency in the 1930s, and these remain the most severe heat waves in the U.S. historical record  (see Figure 1). Many years of intense drought (the “Dust Bowl”) contributed to these heat waves by depleting soil moisture and reducing the moderating effects of evaporation.

• There is no clear trend over the entire period tracked by the index. Although it is hard to see in Figure 1 (because of the extreme events of the 1930s), heat wave frequency decreased in the 1960s and 1970s but has risen since then (see Figure 1).

www.epa.gov/climate/climatechange/pdfs/print_heat-waves.pdf

GHCN HCN records show that the summer of 2011 in Oklahoma was not as hot as 1934, and that the summer of 2012 wasn’t even in the top ten.

Hansen knows that what he is saying now isn’t true. He wrote the text below in 1999.

Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath…..

in the U.S. there has been little temperature change in the past 50 years, the time of rapidly increasing greenhouse gases — in fact, there was a slight cooling throughout much of the country

Greenland Country Club Devastated By Pakistani Revelation

Yesterday, the leading Pakistani global warming official announced that the Greenland ice sheet melted in just four days this summer.

The golf pro at the Greenland Country Club has reports that this announcement is devastating their business. People used to travel half way around the world to putt their famous white greens.

Golfers coming off the 18th hole today have been reporting that conditions are excellent and that the beer is cold.

Virtual Cold Strikes UK Children

Last night’s coldest temperatures « Met Office News Blog

Twelve years ago, leading Met Office climate scientists explained that this is just a virtual cold.

Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past

20 MARCH 2000

David Parker, at the Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research in Berkshire, says ultimately, British children could have only virtual experience of snow. Via the internet, they might wonder at polar scenes – or eventually “feel” virtual cold.

Carbon Taxes In California Pay Immediate Retroactive Benefits

A string of strong Pacific Storms is continuing to hit Northern California. Mount Shasta’s projected snowfall may make a run for the world record.

Combined over the next several days will be anywhere from 176 – 218 inches of snow! This is a lot of snow, with the record being 189 inches in six days. Can you guess where?

If you guessed Mount Shasta then you are correct as this area received 189 inches of snow in six days in February 1959. The National Climatic Data Center says California’s heaviest four-day snowstorm was 145 inches at the Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski Resort near Echo Summit in March-April 1982. The U.S. four-day snow record is 163 inches at Thompson Pass, Alaska, in December 1955.

This is an excellent example of how local action has retroactively reversed global warming back to the year 1997.

California Ski Industry Association Works to Curb Global Warming

In addition to supporting measures promoted by the NSAA, the California Ski Industry Association has itself become a leader in finding a solution to the problem of climate change. In 2001 the CSIA was one of the first industry groups to endorse AB 1058, the legislation targeting emission controls on new vehicles, specifically SUVs, sold in California. Most recently, the CSIA was among the first industry representatives to publicly support California Assembly Bill 32 or the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. AB 32 requires that California reduce its statewide greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 emission levels by 2020, and provides market-based approaches to achieve this goal. In the absence of any federal measures to reduce polluting emissions, it has become imperative for states to take independent action. AB 32 was signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on September 27, 2006, making California the first state to mandate economy-wide emissions reductions. Delighted with the success of AB 32, the CSIA continues to support sound measures to defeat global warming.

Sadly, unemployment in California is double digits due to excessive taxes, and many people can’t afford to go skiing.

In the El Centro metropolitan area, the unemployment rate for October was 28.1 percent

Verifying John Daly’s Data Capture

John Daly captured this version of GISS US temperatures in 1999 or 2000, which I have used as a basis to show that Hansen has massively altered temperature data.

http://www.john-daly.com/usatemps.006

NASA has of course deleted the old data from their site, so how do we know that John Daly’s data is correct? Simple, I overlaid John Daly’s data from 2000 (blue below) on a graph Hansen published in 1999.

http://www.giss.nasa.gov/research/briefs/hansen_07/fig1x.gif

Hansen alters the data constantly, but it is a pretty close match. He has turned an 80 year cooling trend into a warming trend. The gun is smoking.

Google News Turns On The Messiah

Check out the lead story on Google News.

Google News

I predicted during the campaign the the MSM would turn on Obama after the election. He has made a complete mess and can’t hide behind Romney’s tax returns any more.

His three week $4 million vacation in Hawaii will attract the press sharks. They have no one else to go after any more. They will rip him to shreds over the next few years, because he is spectacularly incompetent and dishonest.

Biggest case of buyer’s remorse in history.

A Goverment Of Whiners

The climate (and life in general) were much more difficult during the 1930s. The government has to stop lying about this.
