The Interior Alaska town of Chicken wins the winter prize as the first locale to hit 50 below zero this winter.

While Chicken recorded minus 52 this morning, Tok came in at minus 46, with Eagle close behind at minus 44. At the Fairbanks International Airport, temperatures of minus 28 were recorded Thursday morning.

The fundamental threat is from liars like Brad Johnson, and are pushing a political agenda. Huffington Post knows that he is lying, yet happily goes along with him.

Martin Hoerling, who chairs the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s climate variability research program and oversees NOAA’s Climate Scene Investigators, debunked the assertion global warming played a significant role in Hurricane Sandy.

“Great events, like this meteorological one, can happen with little cause,” Hoerling further explained in the Huffington Post. “Individually, neither the tropical storm nor the extratropical storm that embraced it, were unusual. What makes this a rare, perhaps once in a lifetime event, is the fortuity of their timely (“untimely” as far as most are concerned who sit in harm’s way) intersection.”

The Huffington Post reported Hoerling’s colleague Randall M. Dole said the convergence of events that made Sandy a superstorm was just “random bad luck.”

The graph below shows the number of daily US temperature readings over 40C, recorded at all 595 HCN stations continuously active since 1900.

NOAA and GISS claim that the 2011/2012 heatwaves were unprecedented, when in fact they weren’t even in the top ten. In 1936, there were four times as many records of 40C+ as were measured in 2011 or 2012. The graph above updates the EPA graph below to 2012.

The US was much hotter during the 1930s, and NOAA and GISS are determined to rewrite history.

The claim that sea level rise has increased since the 2007 IPCC meeting, is complete garbage. The post 2007 trend (light blue) is less than the 1993-2007 (red) trend.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — The first victim was found in the gutter of a quiet residential street, just as the killer was shedding blood again on the campus of a nearby community college.

Wielding some kind of sharp-edged weapon, he killed a community college instructor before taking his own life in front of a classroom of students.

Police wouldn’t speculate on a motive for the murder-suicide and said little about how it all developed Friday at Casper College and in a neighborhood about two miles away. They hinted, however, that the three knew each another.

Casper Police Chief Chris Walsh said an “edged weapon” was used in at least one of the killings. He didn’t say more about what type of weapon it was and whether the killer used the same weapon in all of the deaths.

This is a climate related disaster. I had a roommate in college during the 1970s from Casper, and he told me that they had a very high suicide rate because of the constant infernal wind – which drove people nuts. It is clear that strict gun control and CO2 reductions could have prevented this knife tragedy.

The new normal is to ramp up the lies further with each sentence.

Climate Change Seas rising 60 percent faster

PARIS, Nov 28, 2012 (AFP) – Sea levels are rising 60-percent faster than the UN’s climate panel forecast in its most recent assessment, scientists reported on Wednesday.

At present, sea levels are increasing at an average 3.2 millimetres (0.125 inches) per year, a trio of specialists reported in the journal Environmental Research Letters. This compares with a “best estimate” by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2007, which projected that by today, the rise would be 2 mm (0.078 inches) per year. The new figure converges with a widely-shared opinion that the world is heading for sea-level rise of around a metre (3.25 feet) by century’s end, co-author Grant Foster of US firm Tempo Analytics told AFP

Sea level rise has slowed since 2007, and even with the phony current numbers he used – there would only be 30 cm of rise by the end of the century.
