My Combined Arctic Forecast

I’ve synthesized the Arctic data from the world’s leading scientific bodies.

  • PIOMAS says the ice is the thinnest on record
  • GISS maps consistently show the Arctic somewhere between red hot and pink hot (2-12C) above normal.
  • Last year was the hottest year ever
  • The sea ice is being undermined by unprecedented warm water coming in from underneath
  • Ocean temperatures around Greenland are record warm.
  • The ice is all rotten
  • The dipole anomaly is like 2007
  • The Arctic has been receiving excess sunshine due to a lack of cloud cover
  • Multi-year ice melts more easily than it used to
  • Older ice extent is the smallest on record
  • Extent is the lowest on record
  • Melt is the fastest on record
  • “2013 is already too conservative”

I completely trust these data sources, and can only conclude that the Arctic will be ice free in just a few weeks.

The sun is too low now to matter….
    ….and it’s getting lower……………..LOL

    Very funny

  3. Scott says:

My spreadsheet is currently saying 4412072 km^2 for the daily minimum for JAXA. So still predicting between 2007 and 2008 values.

    We’re all doomed!!!!!

I predict Julia’s carbon tax will save the poles. There will be a sudden ice gain and we’ll be back to 1979 levels in no time.

You forgot that the Sun is now 30% brighter, astrophysicists have said so.

  7. A K Haart says:

Again you haven’t been precise – is going to happen during the UK soccer results?

  8. Baa Humbug says:

You may have inadvertantly stumbled upon how the various AGW graphs are arrived at.
One bump on the elbow and the crayon slips dramatically…”oh look, it’s a hockey stick shape and it’s worse than we thought”.

    Steve,
it is STILL over 6.5 million. Not sure why you are so hesitant to back up all the data you post indicating near 2006 levels. the current slope extrapolates to around 6.0. So much less ice loss than 2007 the last few days. Make you prediction NOW, and you can get HUGE odds, and make out like a bandit.

He’ll make his predictions at the last minute. Or maybe he’ll be like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who have stopped making predictions altogether. Both of them have gotten burnt once too often. 🙂
