The Emperor’s New Clothes

Some people will believe the government over their own eyes. Comment from reader Nick

I live just up the road from Stony Point and have spent most of my life in the environs. Went to School at Hastings, played sport up and down the western shore of western port etc, and now live on about 600 meters from and 2 meters above above eastern shore line.

I wish the sea level would rise, then I’d have “beach front”

I have spoken to people who honestly believe the sea level has risen. LOL. But they still have their property about 3 meters from and 500mm above the shoreline LOL. Seems they’re not convinced enough to put their decisions where their beliefs are LOL

forget what they say…have they sold their houses? If they haven’t, it means they don’t really believe in sea levels rising either

Which reminds me of Hansen’s predictions of NYC sea level inundation by about now. Why did NASA GISS decide not to move out of NYC several decades ago in order to avoid the flood waters? Do they not believe their own predictions? Do they not really believe in the precautionary principle?

It wasn’t a prediction, it was a scenario, and he was not quoted correctly./sarc. He gets credit for caring though, but never faulted for bad predictions. Being wrong is a resume enhancer to the left. Tony D. will be along soon to set the record straight…..for the 50,001 time.

In some cases, because of local government policies regarding nonexistent (or insignificant) sea-level rise, people can’t afford to sell their houses as their value has sunk.

Here in Ottawa this weekend, you may have heard, an outdoor music concert was disrupted by strong winds blowing the stage down. Of course, we get some dishonest climate expert from Environment Canada saying this was global warming.
