The Guardian won a Pulitzer Prize for reporting on Snowden’s unveiling of government abuse of power and deception.
Yet the same paper insists on believing government BS about global warming.

Snowden supports what the so-called progressives want to believe: It is all the USA’s fault. Skepticism questions something else the so-called progressives want to believe: It is all the fault of technology, and they have the solution.
Has anyone ever seen a “progressive/leftist” rag that repeated anything but the “global warming disaster” number?
I never have; it almost defines them at this point.
Check into the reality on the ground that *all* historically reliable (more or less, despite the upside down Food Pyramid) official century or multiple century old official scientific bodies including the Nobel prize committees are all promoting Al Gore Bull Warming, and your don’t have schizophrenia, but mere lingering dupes. Politicians in democracies get a free pass since their jobs are to represent, however deranged voters might be. Yet Steve McIntyre is outspoken in his lectures that using the words ‘scam’ or ‘fraud’ is counterproductive. So whole armies of aged skeptics have adopted pacifism as a do gooder badge of honor, pathetically. And you, you keep posting NAZI photos and letting crackpots (ancient gods and iron sky) dominate your blog so normal everyday people don’t return here after their activist friends offer them the lowdown on how you perfectly fit the stereotype of the ranting lunatic.

“Nothing was ever accomplished by a reasonable man”
– George Bernard Shaw
“Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” – Barry Goldwater
That slogan got him 36% of the vote. We did not want to prod the bear into a nuclear exchange.
Didn’t matter. The Communists came back in full force to bury the West anyhow.
Indeed an excellent job. Sometimes I feel like life is a game of chess though and too many are just playing checkers, or just slap jack, as if tribalism is standing in for sociology. I don’t expect to steer the big and little ships of Skepticism, overtly, but to in my now less activist spare time (often with wine) help stop them from merely preaching to the already converted choir again and again, redundantly, especially as various damaged people now loudly and publicly latch onto skepticism to validate their otherwise tainted reputations, imagined or real, and add a creepy vibe to blogs. I live just above the Upper West Side, and don’t think raw tribalism against a concerned bleeding heart liberal public is all that effective in actually changing minds, *assuming* that’s the goal here. What *I* want is the full collapse of progressivism, with the AGW scam acting as a wedge issue that gets under the skin of idiotic idealists enough to give them hives. All I want to do is add a bit of awareness as I see it in the moment, as I imagine myself as one of my typical liberal neighbors (mostly goofy wives of bankers) running into skeptical blogs. I remember in the extreme the shear oddity of serious skeptical blogs when I first checked them out. US versus THEM is like twenty people on opposite sides of an online culture war. That leaves a thousand new people a day dazed and confused as here oblique reference is made to some unknown Romm or evidently evil Tamino, as Iron Man spouts off conspiracies about NUCLEAR WAR. Yet Steve is the *only* full time skeptic simplifying basic data and history, the only guy even coming close to a Simpsons quality dramatic spoof of High Alarmism. But it’s no mistake that currently the most effective skeptics are insightful women. They are better at transforming cold hard logic into a context-aware public message that laypersons can understand without feeling lost in a pile of homework and dirty laundry.
You are doing fine, Steve.
Unfortunately, depending on the throw of the dice, the insulated from reality touchy-feelly libs may be in for a very rude awakening.
First the Economy:
Peter Schiff, Donald Trump, and others are warning: Prepare For ‘Massive Wealth Destruction’
Of course this warning has been in the wind for a while now, since 2008 in fact so whether or not the USA manages to continue to limp along as it is doing now or does a crash and burn probably depends on whether or not the USD stays world reserve currency. However the US ‘economic recovery’ is just as false as CAGW. It is completely government propaganda. Also the BRICS countries are setting up a parallel system to that of the Bretton Woods Agreement bypassing the US dollar completely AND they are amassing gold . So it looks like the libs might be getting “the deliberate quest of poverty, reduced resource consumption…” they say they want.
Second the Weather:
I am inclined to agree with Dr Brown’s assessment that the climate is ‘Chaotic’ and will stay in one regime or ‘strange attractor’ until enough factors add up to shift it to another regime or ‘strange attractor’.
At this point we have:
PDO – cold phase
AMO- will be in cold phase
SOLAR – cycle 24 is weak and the indications are for a ‘Grand Minimum’ going forward
SOLAR MAGNETIC FIELD weakening going forward
MILANKOVITCH CYCLE favorable overall for cooling
So again the Progressives are going to be getting what they ask for, a cooling earth. The shift in the ‘Climate Regime’ is already starting to show.
I am not sure the inner city types are going to be real happy if the US government is forced to start making cuts. If the US government bankrupts, and that is entirely possible then the World Bank/IMF Structural Adjustment Policies may kick in.
That by the way is why Iceland told the bankers they would NOT stick the taxpayers with the cost of the bankers follies. Of course the citizens had to take to the streets and protest first.
Iceland Has It Right – Jail Those Responsible for the Financial Crisis
That is what the USA should have done. Kicked the banksters in the pants, declared all the ‘zero reserve’ based mortgage, credit card, student and other loans unconstitutional (which they are) and taken control of the US dollar away from the FED.
When do I actually get to vote for “keep the oil money” Trump? Jeb Bush is no Reagan.
Thanks, Gail, for mentioning the Icelanders. Not only did they refuse to bail out the fraudulent bankers, they kicked out the politicians who were pushing the bailout and arrested the bankers for fraud. Result? Iceland has one of the most stable economies and the lowest unemployment rates in Europe.
When I want to see raving lunatics at work I usually go to a Warmist cult site. I leave them when the heartburn starts.
The Guardian is strangely two minded about science. This rag easily regurgitates stories of CAGW climate change without acknowledging the lack of data, or poor methodology, or both but on other issues it demands full data disclosure.

In Roche’s defense they did not have legal permission to publish all the data they held – but that’s a different story.
To the Blogger:
Can you define what Schizophrenia is? What is the criteria? Please do not look it up, but first define it, then look it up. Most likely, you and others will say “Split Mind” which it is not. Or, seeing and hearing things, which it may be. But not necessarily.
It is remarkable how many people use terms, they do not even understand, but yet are experts,
It is similar to people who feel they are serving Our Country, by not serving! What a strange concept!
God Help Us.
“Can you define what Schizophrenia is?”
No, but then the APA can’t seem to figure it out either.
“What is the criteria?”
That changes every few years.
The word originally meant “split mind” & has changed both definition & diagnostic criteria many times since its coinage. The older definition is perfectly valid.
Shattered mind, inability to distinguish fantasy and reality.
“The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the principles on which it was founded.” – French political philosopher C. L. De Montesquieu (1689-1755)
When Progressives change the US Constitution, the foundation that the USA is built upon crumbles. The same goes for any other democracy.
That is a great quote, and if you didn’t have the author of it listed, I would have guessed Jefferson — which is high praise, in my opinion.
I wish it were only the so-called “Progressives” (neo-socialists would be more accurate) who were negating the Constitution. Unfortunately a lot of neo-conservatives have helped the process along.
The fact is (and I still have a difficult time writing this, even though it has been apparent for some years now) — the fact is, we do not live in a Constitutional Republic. We used to, but we don’t now. The Republic is over and the Constitution is a dead letter. I am not being pessimistic. I am merely stating the facts of the matter. People may dislike what I say, they may think it is rude or unAmerican. They may even think I am wrong. To those people, try this experiment. Pretend you are a prosecuting attorney, and you are trying to convict the USA of the hypothetical crime of “following the Constitution”. Could you win the case?
A while back I posted that we lost the USA in 1913.
1. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 was passed removing gold and silver as our monetary standard. This is when real capitalism died. The Banksters assumed complete control of the economy allowing them to siphoning off large amounts of this country’s wealth.
2. The Sixteenth Amendment (adopted on February 3, 1913) allowed the Congress to levy an income tax and encouraged the growth of the federal government and federal debt. At this point in time ALL taxes go to ‘service the debt’
3. The Seventeenth Amendment ( adoption on May 31, 1913) changed the election of senators by state legislatures to direct election of United States Senators by popular vote. This removed control of the federal government by the states.
Now most states are dependent on federal assistance for finance and the Feds use this for blackmailing the states into complying with their wishes.
Since war makes banksters and certain corporations rich, by 1915 the USA had moved from a policy of isolationism to ‘World Policeman’ In 1915 J.P. Morgan interests bought up all the most important news papers so they could feed Americans propaganda.
Even before that in 1892 John D. Rockefeller funded the department of philosophy, psychology and education at the University of Chicago. In 1894, John Dewey, the father of progressive education, was appointed head of the department.
The planned destruction of the USA has been in place for over one hundred years and it was planned by the so called capitalists of Wall Street. 1911 Karl Marx in Wall Street cartoon

Perhaps the greatest lie ever fed to John Q Public is the lie that bankers and corporate CEO are pro-capitalism or represent capitalism.
The government based in DC (Mordor on the Potomac) is essentially a fascist oligarchy.
The definition of fascism is government by corporate interests for the big corporations. One only has to observe the revolving doors between big banks and DC or big pharma and DC or the Military and their contractors to detect the aroma of full-fledged fascism.
The bright side, and simultaneously the dark side, is that the fools in charge have bankrupted Mordor on the Potomac buying friends (foreign aid), buying votes and throwing their weight around the world. What comes next may not be pretty.
If I could predict the future, I’d have moved to Belize 20 years ago…..
Yes, the idiots have really back themselves into a corner trying to build their “New World/Global Governance”
I am just hoping to have died peacefully in my sleep before TSHTF.
It looks like more and more of us have come, or are coming to, pretty much the same opinions on how We The People have gotten into such a fix.
When I was a child I used to hear the old timers who had lived through the Great Depression cuss about the bankers. I could never quite make sense of it. “Gosh? What is so bad about the bankers? They just lend people money and run checking and savings accounts, right?”
Oh, I understand now.
one post it’s the government standing up to the overwhelming evidence of anthropocentric climate changes, the next it is the Government. Quotes from secondhand sources extolling their own opinions on other’s work as fact, and a mishmash of Illuminati-conspiracy rejects who can’t decide which strawman to hate. I followed for about a weak, which is how I feel after the week. normally don’t comment, would just leave, but the ridiculousness of the overrepresentation is too much. at least report on the findings at the LHC of the very slim likelihood of nucleation from cosmic rays. or does presenting evidence that contradicts what you have presented here seem too much like real science?
