Feynman Explained That Belief In Settled Science Is The End Of Hope And Progress

It is in the admission of ignorance and the admission of uncertainty that there is a hope for the continuous motion of human beings in some direction that doesn’t get confined, permanently blocked, as it has so many times before in various periods in the history of man.

Look, I don’t have a dog in this Man-Made Global Warming thingy. If it gets (a bit) warmer because of Man-Made CO2, so be it. Seems not though. Why? Beyond my pay grade.

Whatever happens, happens. We will deal with it. As best we can.

But for heaven’s sake, let’s deal with what is actually happening in real time and let projections/predictions be just that. Conjecture. What might happen? Hey. Interesting; really interesting; but conjecture, not fact. Fact is what happens. Predicting what happens? Hmmm. Different story. As warmists are finding.

Yes, gregole you very much have a Dog in this Fight because the fight is not just about CAGW.

CAGW is just the cloak hiding a power grab. You can read up on it in the words of former World Trade Organization head Pascal Lamy. He makes it quite clear the goal has been a world government and the decision was made in the 1930s to go for it. This means the US Constitution has to go. “…an approach to international relations that questioned the Westphalian, sacrosanct principle of sovereignty…”

The USA must become a vassal state to the UN. He suggest the EU as the model for the new form of government and if you read between the lines, CAGW and the financial crisis are what are being used to give ‘legitimacy’ to a world government. “To achieve consensus, we need to strengthen the system’s legitimacy by better reflecting the interests and concerns of citizens….The reality is that, so far, we have largely failed to articulate a clear and compelling vision of why a new global order matters…” (So much for ‘Conspiracy Nuts’ being wrong about the ‘New World Order’ although the fact the movers and shakers are now coming out of the closet and admitting it is in its self frightening. )

In the same way, climate change negotiations are not just about the global environment but global economics as well — the way that technology, costs and growth are to be distributed and shared. Can we maintain an open trading system without a more coordinated financial system?

Can we balance the need for a sustainable planet with the need to provide billions with decent living standards? Can we do that without questioning radically the Western way of life? …

At the same time, globalization is blurring the line between national and world issues, redefining our notions of space, sovereignty and identity. As we saw during the recent financial crisis, economic turbulence in one country now sends shockwaves worldwide….

Unfortunately for them, people are stubborn and there is a lot of resistance to the idea of a world totalitarian government like the EU. As a matter of fact their dreams and hopes placed in the EU are falling apart.

That leaves force and we can see that force building. Remember it was Republicans like Bush who first gave us the Patriot Act and it is Democrats like Obama who are consolidating the position and turning our law enforcement into tyrants to be feared who do not target foreign ‘Terrorists’ but Americans who support the Constitution. See my comment HERE for the details.

Both the Republican party as well as the Democrats are on board with the idea of making the USA a vassal state of the UN. The saga of the Food Safety Modernization Act, shows how the ball was batted back and forth for twenty years (actually since the end of WWII) between the Republicans and Democrats until they got a law passed handing regulation of American farms over to the UN – OIE, FAO and the World Trade Organization. See my comment HERE for the details.

    • Gail Combs says:

The fact that the Patriot Act, at least under Obama is aimed at ‘Domestic Terrorists” (Americans opposed to scrapping the Constitution) is pretty evident if you bother to look.

First Osama bin Laden was a member of the House of Saud and there were 15 Saudis among 9/11 hijackers. Yet right after 9/11, during the flight ban the FBI flew members of the Saudi royal family and relatives of Osama bin Laden out of the USA.

Next U.S. Lets Saudis Bypass Regular Airport Security. So while a Girl in Wheelchair, age 3, is Detained by TSA and a 85-year-old woman is strip searched, people from the country that supplied 15 of the 9/11 hijackers get a free pass.

      Does this make sense?

On top of that is Janet Napolitano, head of Department of Homeland Security’s completely screwy behavior and the fact that although Canadian Border Security is specifically tightened up by the Patriot Act the Mexican Border is not. Again completely screwy behavior given Radical Islams inroads among Latin Americas Natives and ranchers finding Korans among other abandoned equipment on their farms near illegal border crossings areas. See Details in my comment HERE.

I am sorry Gregole, but you do have a dog in this.
They are using falsities to extract money from your wallet.
Unless you are happy to be robbed, and tricked into having a lower living standard for you and your family, you have a responsibility to try and stop them.
Things such as Fukishima and toxic dumping can and should be fought, but based on good, verifiable data. They hide the data of real damage, and falsify the data on nonsense (Ozone hole, Skin Cancer, HIV, CO2) to find ways of stealing your (our) wealth.

But why should YOU get involved?
“If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.”
    ? Thomas Paine

How do we know that Gore et al are lying?
“It’s an universal law– intolerance is the first sign of an inadequate education. An ill-educated person behaves with arrogant impatience, whereas truly profound education breeds humility.”
    ? Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

“To governments that control with fear, the truth is the enemy of the state. Propaganda, censorship, and mass mind control produce homogenized thinking conforming to the will of the Controllers.” – Tarra Light: Angel of Auschwitz: A Spiritual Memoir of Forgiveness & Healing; Pg. 187.
“In every time and culture there are pressures to conform to the prevailing prejudices, but there are also in every place and epoch, those who value the TRUTH, who ‘record’ the ‘evidence’ faithfully. Future generations are in their debt.”
Carl Sagan from Cosmos Part IV Heaven and Hell (at 23:25)

“You must have less, that they may have more”
