Americans Show Low Levels of Concern on Global Warming

Many climate change activists have attempted to raise awareness in recent years, as evidenced by the recent U.N. report.

  1. Gail Combs says:

Unfortunately they are slowly gaining ground. No doubt because older folks are dying off and being replaced by the brainwashed idiots like Dave and Steve still posting insults in A Kook Classic

    • Psalmon says:

I’d suggest a 1-2 point difference either way is within the margin of error.

Simple summary of this: On environmental issues people are concerned with things that affect them directly and most immediately – duh. True both in magnitude and trend.

Makes sense. I don’t want poisons in my water, food, or air to the extent possible and reasonable. Only global warming genocidal lunatics want those things.

      Ironically Fed regulations are causing:
      – Ground water contamination: MTBE additives to gasoline originally
      – Soil contamination: Loss of open land to ethanol production
      – River pollution: Hudson River mandated “cleanups” causing huge toxic releases
      – Air pollution: People burning firewood because electricity has skyrocketed

Reagan was right: I’m from the government, and I’m here to help you. Most frightening words ever.

    • Shanna M says:

I would suppose as those young people get older, and experience more weather fluctuations over time, they will eventually lose faith in the global warming theory.

      • Psalmon says:

They believe heavy snow and record ice and cold is caused by warming, so respectfully, I think they are pretty much whacked for life.

    • Shazaam says:

There are plenty of brainwashed idiots who know what they know. Logic and reason do not apply. It’s been true throughout history.

However. Those same idiots are really fun to watch when they finally awaken to the fact that the government and all their “authority figures” (climate pimps, teachers, media) have been lying to them.

You think they’re stubborn and rude “knowing what they know” ??? If and when they awaken to the fact that they’ve been deceived by folks they were taught to trust (aka brainwashed), the fury they demonstrate is amazing. I had always wondered how people could have been so out-of-control during the French Revolution.

Seeing a few come to realize that if they government says something it’s usually a lie has been educational.

Probably the one good thing the Laughingstock-in-Chief has accomplished in his limited tenure in the White-house (between golfing vacations) has been to greatly erode the sheeple’s brainwashed trust in government and government spokesmen (including the media parrots).

      • Gail Combs says:

Yes the US public is not at all happy with the District of Criminals.

        Rasmussen Polls: Congressional Performance
Incumbents, Beware: Just 29% Think You Deserve Reelection to Congress

Voters continue to frown on the job Congress is doing, but support for congressional incumbents has fallen to all-time lows.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only seven percent (7%) of Likely U.S. Voters think Congress is doing a good or excellent job, little changed from monthly surveys over the past year. Sixty-four percent (64%) now rate Congress’ performance as poor, but that’s down from 75% in November, its highest negative in seven years of tracking….

And it goes down hill from there

… only eight percent (8%) of voters think most members of Congress get reelected because they do a good job representing their constituents. Two-thirds (66%) believe it’s because election rules are rigged to benefit incumbents.

Talk about a vote of no confidence!

This poll is my favorite: 56% Think Their Congressman Likely to Have Sold a Vote

Congress for sale? That’s what most voters still think.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 61% of Likely U.S. Voters believe most members of Congress are willing to sell their vote for cash or campaign contributions. Just 13% disagree…

  2. Those numbers (basically just another “popularity poll” about “environmental concerns”, irrespective of the actual evidence for any of them) are due to a combination of low-information science and low-information citizens; incompetence all-around. I would say a 33% level of belief in global warming/”climate change” (which is total bushwa) is a HIGH level of concern–a far too high level, of delusion (and both ideological and idiotic), and it is being embraced by the scientists themselves. With numbers like these, you might as well say 40-50% of the population, no matter their level of education (or miseducation), doesn’t know, and will never care to learn, the truth.

    • Gail Combs says:

      Agreed

It is really a poll to determine how well the brainwashing from the MSM and government schools is working.

      (Is my cynicism showing?)

  3. 34% believe in AGW or Anthro-Climate Change ? Seems low. I would guess the # is closer to 50% if you just asked the straight question; ‘do you believe in cagw/climate change?’ Half would start to salivate and shake screaming ‘yes!’ Most of these 50% do vote for the unDemocratic party of course…..

    • Mike D says:

You’re correct. Lower down in the article is a table breaking down the results by demographics and other things. Overall only 43% fall into the category of “Personally worry about global warming” Only a Little or Not at all.

Meaning the propaganda works. The categories that are most likely to be believers are: Politically – Democrats, Age – 18 to 29 year olds, and Education – Some college

  4. Richard Mallett says:

It’s funny that, in the USA, ‘green’ issues are said to be favoured by the Democratic Party; while, here in England, David Cameron (Conservative) says he wants to make Britain the ‘green man of Europe’ (converting coal fired power stations to burn wood chips, etc.)

    • Justa Joe says:

From what I can tell a UK conservative would be equivalent to a moderate Democrat in the USA.

Also Main -Line Republicans pay a lot of lip service and more to so-called “green issues.” A pol must appeal to the soccer moms.

  5. Gail Combs says:

David Cameron (Conservative) says he wants to make Britain the ‘green man of Europe’ (converting coal fired power stations to burn wood chips, etc.)
    >>>>>>>>>>>>
Actually the ‘Conservatives’ and ‘Progressives’ are the same. One is just the “Controlled Opposition” so the public thinks they actually are free and have a choice.

“…converting coal fired power stations to burn wood chips…”

Dude never bothered to study history did he? England switched to coal because they burned all the trees. The US east coast was pretty well denuded too. That is why there are no ‘virgin’ forests and you see stone walls wandering through the woods that used to be fields and pastures.

  6. Richard Mallett says:

That’s where our wood for power is coming from now.

    • Mike D says:

Exactly. Coal is evil, but shipping wood chips across the ocean seems to be environmentally friendly. I suppose those are all sailing vessels or else they have to be using fossil fuels.

North American wood pellet exports reached new record in Q1

“North American wood pellet exports reached a new record of over 1 million tons in the first quarter of 2013, according to the North American Wood Fiber Review. There has been a steady growth in shipments from both the U.S. and Canada the past few years, mainly as a result of the continued increase in demand for pellets in the United Kingdom.”

      • Gail Combs says:

HMMmmm, I have about 80 ac of trash wood I need cleared. I should sell it to the UK now before the hoax ends. (I will keep the 10 ac of good hardwood for my use.)

  7. Drew Turner says:

For some reason when Pinatubo erupted in 1991 everyone was quick to agree that the aerosols cooled the northern hemi. Once the aerosols reacted with ozone and let more heat in, suddenly it was caused by cow farts and CO2. Pretty sure the damage has begun to heal itself which explains the recent mad rush by climate change activists to get their money grabbing schemes locked in.
