This graph gives a good feel for how uniquely cold the weather has been in the midwest this year. Great Lakes ice cover is more than double the previous record.

‘A Historical perspective of the 1976-77 Lake Michigan Ice Cover” R. A. Assel and F. H. Quinn (1979):
“the winter of 1976–77 was one of the four coldest in the past 80 years. The analysis also shows that the past 15–20 winters have been colder than the normal established by the 80-year data base.”

Of note 76 (after the notorious record summer drought/heatwave here in the UK) into 77 was also quite wet, with Feb 77 beating Feb 2014.
The power of global warming to produce massive cold and ice should never be underestimated. That’s why we need immediate tax increases, gun control and forced abortion.
Do you have to keep reminding us how miserable this winter has been. I bought a new boat last fall and can’t put it in the water because of all the ice.

The alarmists can jack around all they want with the temperature records, but apparently they have not found a way to manipulate what is out there in the real world. The best they can do it blame it on a tiny amount of missing ice and then make the outrageous claim that they saw this coming all along. Only a hard core true believer would ever buy into that crock of BS.
