  1. Billy Liar says:

It’s quite obvious there’s a correlation – between the green and red lines.

  2. Ryan says:

as shown you plotted from 2001 and it looks like the global average has fallen slightly since then, but then I changed the year to 2000 and it look like it has gone up slightly. These are the sort of games we see everyday

    • The 21st century started in 2001, Homer.

      • Fred from Canuckistan says:

Homer and numbers. Always the same problem.

      • MrX says:

BAM! And yet we partied in 1999. LOL! Also, so what if it goes up or down by a little? Apparently, that’s Ryan’s takeaway from all this despite the title.

        • Fred from Canuckistan says:

I have it on good authority that Ryan was hit on ‘is noggin while yelling something about a wolf.

          Film at 11.

    • -=NikFromNYC=- says:

“There was a time when I was in a hurry as you are
      I was like you
There was a day when I just had to tell my point of view
      I was like you
Now I don’t mean to make you frown
No, I just want you to slow down

      Have you never been mellow?
Have you never tried to find a comfort from inside you?
Have you never been happy just to hear your song?”

    • Morgan says:

Everyday is two words in this usage, Ryan.

    • Chip Bennett says:

So, adding in data for 2000 would produce a correlation between atmospheric CO2 levels and global temperature, where clearly no such correlation exists without that single data point?

      This, I’ve got to see.

PROTIP: if such a data point exists, it would be so far out of trend that it would be what real scientists call an outlier.

      • Jimbo says:

Santer said we need 17 years to distinguish between noise and the human fingerprint. Four more years of this lack of correlation would certainly be looked at by the pros.

      • Gail Combs says:

Do not forget that the data sets, as Steve has been showing, have been jiggled and rigged to show a correlation. As have the CO2 data sets.

It really is nothing but a stinking pile of propaganda when you start digging into it. No wonder there has been a major attrition rate in the scientists willing to be associated with the IPCC!

  3. Eric Simpson says:

Where’s the global warming? It’s no where to be found. This doesn’t jive with the doomsday predictions, models, and theory of the fear mongering Chicken Little Brigade. The bullsh!t artists try to spin this as par for the course, like, the deep ocean ate the supposed missing heat. Well there isn’t any missing heat. The heat’s just not there. Despite everything they said back in the ’80s and ’90s that if we don’t immediately cut CO2 to the bone we were going to by now be suffering from hellish heat, the sea rising over Manhattan and Florida, and tornadoes and hurricanes galore. Well the sea… is just the same. The temperatures… are just the same. The amount of hurricanes etc… is down. The warmist are full of shiite.
“We have to offer up scary scenarios… each of us has to decide the right balance between being effective and being honest.” -Stephen Schneider, lead ipcc author, 1989
“Unless we announce disasters no one will listen.” -Sir John Houghton, ex ipcc chair
“Entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of eco-refugees, threatening political chaos.” ” -Noel Brown, ex UNEP Director, 1989
“[Inaction will cause]… by the turn of the century [2000], an ecological catastrophe which will witness devastation as complete, as irreversible as any nuclear holocaust.” -Mustafa Tolba, 1982, former Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Program
Didn’t happen. It’s all unadulterated flat out hogwash. Bullhockey. Like the hockey stick fabricated by the scientist Berkeley grad and leftist activist Michael Mann.

  4. BobW in NC says:

And the rise in CO2? Only 3% can be attributed to human activity. Good luck trying to control the other 97%!!!

    • Morgan says:

You should stop saying that. It’s a faulty argument. Stick to sound arguments so the warmists have nothing to counter with.

      • BobW in NC says:

Faulty argument? I’m missing something. The IPCC’s own data published in their AR4 report showed the estimated tons CO2 human activity/Total Tons = 2.91%.

        • Jimbo says:

It’s the human increase they are focused on. They say that without the human emissions there was a balance. Don’t use your argument again, they will shoot it down, fast.

  5. Aurora Svant says:

The nearly absolutely linear trend for the measured Co2 concentration is remarkable. This has been ongoing for decades, and it does not parallel the rate of growth of human industrial activity. There must be some other mechanism behind.

  6. Andy DC says:

    CO2 is a correlation co-inefficiant.

  7. tom0mason says:

The real question might be; Does atmospheric CO2 correlate with anything?
I suspect it only correlates to vegetative green growth – increasing CO2 causes an increase in illogical green thinking!

  8. ntesdorf says:

The disturbing thing for CAGW Alarmists is that there is no correlation between CO2 levels and temperature, except in their Warmista minds. This is a religion not a scientific process. There is however good correlation between the red and green lines which is worth investigating.

  9. SIPOM says:

Looking here at both land and sea temp from the 1940’s it looks somewhat different doesn’t it. Funny what you can do when you look at the plots with a bit of bias.

  10. George says:

All of the hot air that has been wasted on this Global Warming Cult is what is causing global warming. They shut up over the winter and I almost froze my ass off.
