Every state needs an intellectual class to justify what the state wants to do. It’s part of the illusion required to rule over us.
True. A thousand years ago the trusted intellectual class were the clerics. Eventually more and more people began to lose trust in the organized churches. A hundred years ago, the newspapers represented the trusted intellectual class — but years of yellow journalism eventually forced the people to lose trust in the newspapers as well. Fifty years ago, television and radio newscasters had taken up the mantle of being the trusted intellectual class, but because of blatant propagandizing, the people finally turned away.
And today…one of the last institutions that we trusted, the scientists are being used to force feed the public on a diet of lies, lies, lies. Not all the scientists are part of it, but rather a subset of people who have the credentials of science without the ethos.
My hope is that people wake up to the propaganda before science as an institution is completely discredited.
I think it is getting well past that point. Scientists and more importantly Scientific organizations like the Royal Society have well and truly peed in their soup by climbing on the CAGW band wagon.
I, a chemist, will never trust a government funded scientist again. Unfortunately the industrial funded scientists have already lost their reputation.
I’ll consider listening to the self-proclaimed “experts” when they start exhibiting a modicum of ethics, and stop violating every principle of scientific discovery and analysis.
