Let’s avoid ego-driven arguments and work together to show how available measurements and observations are explained by:
1. Remote element synthesis and formation of the solar system from an interstellar cloud, or
2. Local element synthesis and formation of the solar system from heterogeneous SN debris orbiting a pulsar.
Quite Honestly, in the case of Trenberth and a few others, avoidance of ego driven arguments is quite impossible. He will be among the shining examples of a very bad turn in science, politics and more.
I doubt that I will get much agreement, but I am beginning to think the flagrantly poor examples of human endeavor a few souls have exhibited (like Trenberth) will eventually be of benefit to us and our children and grandchildren. We have to learn once again that witch hunts, policies based upon eugenics and the like are terrible things, if even it is a short lived lesson, eventually it may bring a little illumination.
