Steven,
I notice that Paul Homewood has also done work on the Illinois temperature record. State Climatological Reports have now been published for December, so he has checked individual stations in detail, and see how they stack up against NOAA’s claims.
He’s used a very robust method to come to nearly the same result as you. As he says –

It is easy to show that this is happening. USHCN publishes raw and final monthly data sets, and that confirms these huge adjustments are occurring.
It is gratifying to have the figures independently verified.
Fine work by the both of you, and as Paul says “It is clear that NOAA’s temperature record for the US is rapidly becoming worthless.” Which well you know.
I wouldn’t call it worthless, because it serves the intended purpose of hiding the decline in US temperatures.
To true, and shows up the political intent behind such ‘adjustments’.
But it also screws with their models. So while they are managing to hoodwink some, their models still show that GIGO is at work.
Ah yes, I forgot that reality has to be adjusted so that it conforms to the models.
And reality just will not cooperate!
Reblogged this on The Grey Enigma.
Im surprised they haven’t “adjusted” these recent USA temperatures LOL
They have. The real ones are much worse.
