Anthony Watts reports that the National Weather Service in Chicago says it is the coldest four months on record. This matches my calculations from HCN data.

But NCDC data doesn’t show Illinois anywhere near record cold. Here is why. USHCN is doing a world’s record upwards adjustment in 2014, of nearly two degrees.
OK, now how are they going to explain the Great Lakes ice?
If they adjust the temperatures up enough that it wasn’t cold enough to freeze all the lakes, i.e. a nearly “average” winter….. How do they explain the record ice????
And how do they explain the record natural gas consumption in the area?
They can adjust and lie about the temperatures. All of the other supporting data (for the real, unadulterated low temperatures) is going to kick them in the tender parts for doing so.

They won’t even try to explain. They will just release their lies and propaganda — and the CAGW enthusiasts will point to the fraudulent numbers and say, “SEE! This was nothing than a minor variation. The warming is still continuing.” If you disagree, then the CAGW crowd will point to the fraudulent releases and accuse you of being a conspiracy nut.
These people are liars, and liars simply have to lie.

That is some Herculean propaganda there.
The government plays by a different set of rules. Private sector tampering would send your ass to jail.
Yeah. Just imagine if the people decided to follow the government’s example and started adjusting their own tax rates as freely as government agencies adjust raw temperature data.
Of course, the people, being rational, would be adjusting those taxes down at a staggering rate.
This effectively shows that the National Weather Service in Chicago, with the so called ‘climate scientists’, and all of the IPCC staff, are the real deniers, deniers of the observable evidence.
With CRU and NASA there were public faces to put on the data sets. Here? I still have no idea. That makes it hard to dig up any old quotes or activist bias to leverage into a compelling story. Also still unclear is how this series feeds into those others or not.

We had six inches of snow february 11 and it was reported as above freezing with rain a couple days later. (Mid NC)

NCDC seems to have located the center of the denial universe as the Chicago office of the National Weather Service. I’m sure the purge will be swift and decisive. The question is whether the IRS, CIA, or OFA will get the training points.

Can’t you find a lawyer, or district attorney, who will take that graph to an appropriate judge, and get an arrest warrant, and maybe a cease-and-desist order against the NWS in Chicago? It cries out for immediate arrest of the felons and racketeers.

Despite Internet and an unlimited acces to historical news and datas, History is still being written by a handful of peoples. When I try to convince people that global warming theory is essentially a scam, they just can’t believe me. They can’t imagine that datas can be manipulated. For them, datas are truth. These adjustments build on each other, and require progressively more drastic fiddles, Each new one must show rise from the previously adjusted number, so the worse they get, the faster they get worse.
And after a while people notice that it snowed six inches while the national weather report shows above freezing and raining.
I wonder how many others have noticed that happening this winter?
