President Barack Obama is concerned that the Keystone Pipeline will overheat America
The world’s greatest climatologist, James Hansen, says that Keystone means “game over” for the planet.
His concern is certainly logical, Adding 1,000 more miles of pipeline to the existing 2,500,000 miles in North America would most certainly be the straw that broke the Earth’s back. But I would be more concerned about the oil in the pipeline freezing from the global warming induced record cold.
You are right, Steven, after WWII, science was re-invented to support whatever policy world leaders wanted to impose on the public.
The reason for the change is given in the PROMISES and WARNING in last paragraph of Aston’s Nobel Lecture on 12 DEC 1922 [1], unreported events in AUG-SEPT 1945 [1], and false changes to nuclear and solar physics in 1946 [2].

Government experts never waver from their guiding principle:
Policy Based Evidence Making (PBEM)
You’re so right, the oil is the one that should worry us much more…..
Ship it to the USA or ship it to China take your pick. Obviously Obummer wants to make sure it gets shipped to his buddies in China.
No, he does not understand world trade. By shipping it to China, he is undercutting his buddies in OPEC. But he thought that by preventing its shipment, he would be. he does not understand that trade finds a way around obstacles, like water through a hole in the dike.
Possibly, but perhaps keeping his buddy Buffet’s railroads loaded to capacity is also a priority.
Skeeter’s experience with pipes is limited in scope.
…yet he does Ok anyway, as Warren Buffet is pleased, and this pleases his pocket book.

Obama gets a two-fer: 1) he pleases his far-left friends and 2) his pet billionaire, Warren Buffet, who gets to keep his train set full of oil.
I’d be more worried about TAP freezing in the winter because without increased drilling, Alaskan production is dropping to the point that the oil flows too slowly to stay warm.
As a proud Canadian pipeliner, I want to vomit every time I hear Obama open his mouth. Bringing tankers in from the Middle East , Venezuela and Nigeria is good for the environment? Pffft
