Only problems with this I can see are that the planet is warming, CO2 has almost nothing to do with climate, and the fact that China controls global CO2 emissions – making anything the west does completely pointless.

The earth has obviously been warming for a long time. Any current warming or cooling is so small any comments one way or the other about it are irrelevant against the 0.4 degrees C margin of error NOAA admits to.
Observationally, there are signs that the earth might be cooling, but nothing in the satellite record is accurate enough to say anything with high confidence temperature wise. Obviously, runaway warming caused by CO2 has not happened and there is no evidence this will occur. I’m betting on cooling within my lifetime (I’m 71), but it is still a bet.
If there was a serious problem the World powers would stop funding AGW research, since it’s proven(sarc), and invest this billions plus billions more into renewable energy research.

The one point I have never understood is given, socialism works until you run out of other people’s wealth, why in heck do you want to kill the Golden Goose?

As I understand it the Fed/EPA goal is to reduce CO2 output from the power generation sector by 30%. Some say reduce coal fired CO2 by 30%. They are not the same.
30% reduction in power generation CO2 times 38% of US CO2 contribution times 19% global CO2 contribution = 2.27% reduction in global CO2. Whoopee.
Eliminating half of coal fired generation: 0.5 * 0.245 * 0.19 = 0.0233 or 2.33% of global CO2 burden.
Massive economic disruption for an inconsequential solution to a non-existent problem.

They (the west corporations) definitely has a point… to stab the public with. They know co2 is but a ploy. The governments just want even more and more taxes flowing from the former that passes it all to the public. I can’t say public what should happen to them all.
