Another Day – More Massive Fraud from NASA

NASA is blaming glacier melt on global warming today, which they know is a completely fraudulent claim.

NASA knows perfectly well that Greenland was melting during their coldest years on record. Dr. Walt Meier (now at NASA) personally told me that Greenland warming was greater in the 1940’s.

Temperatures on the Greenland Ice Sheet are -45 degrees. The Guardian says they are terrified by this melting.

NASA, NOAA, the New York Times, The Guardian, The White House – they are all completely full of crap about climate. What is their agenda?

  1. Martin Smith says:

Is this your big story? You can’t prove fraud by showing old newspaper articles.

[SG : All history is old. Only a complete moron would reject history on the basis of it being old]

    • rah says:

      What does it show Martin?

      • Martin Smith says:

It doesn’t show anything. Steven has gone round the bend, I’m afraid.

        • Gonzo says:

What it shows is that to be a climate researcher/scientist it seems you must be a “catastrophist”. The proof is in the pudding/newspaper/scientific journals. It seems they been crying “the end is nigh” since the beginning.

        • catweazle666 says:

Despite your obviously high opinion of yourself, you really are a profoundly ignorant little boy.

          And exceptionally unpleasant with it.

    • Ted says:

You’re wrong, Tony. Martin believes in NEW history. Whatever Winston Smith (relation?) says happened 80 years ago supersedes anything that was reported at the time.

    • Martin Smith says:

I’m not rejecting history, Steven. I’m saying you can’t refute science with newspaper articles and graphs that show temperature change over time.

[SG : Martin believes that science is determined by government grants, as opposed to actual data]

    • Andy DC says:

The purpose of newspaper articles is to demontrate that recent weather events, often claimed as “unprecedented” by alarmists, have happened in a similar or even worse form in the past. There is very little under the sun that is truly unprecedented or that show that our climate is any worse now than it has been in years gone by.

Since alarmists are very untruthful in that regard, by always claiming that any given storm is the “worst ever”, Steve is doing a valuable service by showing just how fraudulent those claims have been.

  2. rah says:

Laymen “Shocked” by the lack of sea level rise resulting from the catastrophic melting in Greenland that’s been reported for over two decades now!

  3. Ted says:

    Martin-

Since you’re here now, I just want to remind you of a question I asked earlier, in a different thread:
    https://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2015/11/13/50-increase-in-eurasian-autumn-snow-cover-since-1979/#comment-551915

I guess you missed it earlier, so I’ll ask again. Do you know the difference between snowfall extent, and snowfall volume?

    • Martin Smith says:

Sorry, Ted, but I can’t follow all the dozens and dozens of the trolls to my comments on all Steven’s blog posts. I have a life and a job. So I didn’t miss your troll. I simply stop following the nonsense after a while. Here is my answer to your question:

No, he didn’t, Ted. He showed a graph for one region, and he showed a graph for the northern hemisphere for one season. Neither of them prove anything about the global trend in snow extent, nor does Steven take into account the change in the jet stream, which is caused by AGW and which is responsible for cold weather in certain parts of the northern hemisphere, in particular Eurasia and the eastern US and Canada.

  4. Gail Combs says:

And once again Martin the Troll proves he is incapable of logical thought:

“You can’t prove fraud by showing old newspaper articles.”

Tony Brown would be horrified at that statement.

See dave1billion, this is why you can’t.

  5. Barbara says:

I’m not a sceptic. I’m a believer in Steven Goddard’s impeccable research into past science belief and his posting of current events. Appreciative, too!

    • Gail Combs says:

An excellent example of the use of old newspaper and other written material to substantiate the old unadjusted thermometer readings can be found at Jo Nova’s website

….These old newspaper records also raise questions about our national temperature databases. Things appeared to be hotter then, than history now records them? I’ve only had time for a quick look and a cut and paste.

Great numbers were killed alone by the fortnightly train to Alice Springs. These fell exhausted on the railway line. A large number flew into the fans in the carriages and perished. Thousands fell exhausted in water pools and were drowned. A letter from Minnie Downs told of the death of thousands of birds on one day. The temperature that day was 125 degrees in the shade— and there was no shade. One woman at Tarcoola filled a 40-gallon drum, with shell parrots in one afternoon. Trees actually snapped under the strain of flight after flight of birds which swarmed exhausted on them. More than 60,000 dead parrots, it was estimated, were in one dam. Dams and wells for hundreds of miles were piled with dead birds. In places the dead birds were lying two feet deep over the ground. Almost every bushman is a bird lover, and they saved thousands of their feathered friends.”

      .
      .
      .

“From one of his dams he said he took out and burnt about five tons of Parrots. ‘ We made a net with wirenetting,’ he said, ‘and dragged it from one side to the other and then extracted the birds, as the fisherman does his fish.”

There was a human toll from the 1939 heatwave too, more than a hundred people expiring.

The heat covered a huge area. Reports began to come in of phenomenal temperatures. The heatwave stretched far and wide. From Western Australia here to Tasmania, the papers all began to report the heat.
      .
      .
      .

For the USA in that aprox. time frame we had the Dust Bowl.

But everything is OK. NOAA (and the BOM) have managed to erase these high temperatures and since Martin the Troll says historic documents chonicling the events of the time are useless as evidence, NOAA is AGAIN saved from a charge of FRAUD!

      • Jason Calley says:

The US temperature record from the 1930s is one reason why the official “adjustments” do not make sense. When the average of a group is shifted, even a little, the values of the tails become much more drastically shifted. If, for example, the average temperatures today were even one degree higher than they were in the 1930s, then the number of high temperature records from recent times would be much more numerous than before. Likewise the number of state low temperature records would be much fewer today.

NOAA or whoever can get away with altering averages pretty easily. Who remembers or would know any differently of they altered the average for 1910 for the country or for individual states? No one would know. Thy cannot so easily alter the all time high records though because that is a commonly available and recorded record. People would notice.

When you look at the record highs, count how many were set in the single decade of the 1930s. Now tell me that the distribution you see makes any sense if the temperatures now are so much higher.
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._state_temperature_extremes

  6. Jason Calley says:

The entire basis of the Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming is that humans have caused a new and dangerous widespread warming, a type of change not seen before. If historical accounts show the same patterns of weather (and climate is nothing more than the long term statistical pattern of weather) existed before CAGW started as exist during now, then CAGW does not exist.

It is the same periodic cycles today that the historical accounts describe. You cannot claim there is something new when nothing has changed.

  7. cfgjd says:

So why is this happening now? The article says measurements of water temperature show a 1C warming of waters coming originally from the tropics, which is a huge change. The ice-shelf could not withstand the extra melt and the glacier started to collapse as a result.

    • Gail Combs says:

      Let’s take that apart:

So why is this happening now?
The article says measurements of water temperature show a 1C warming of waters coming originally from the tropics, which is a huge change.
      Actual temperatures:

Sea surface temperature anomalies 6 November 2015 (degrees C). This map shows the current anomaly (deviation from normal) of the surface temperature of Earth’s oceans. White represents land areas. White shows the extent of sea ice. Map source: NCEP. Technical notes on the production of the map are available here. Note the water NEXT TO Greenland is actually below normal and it is not exactly warm to begin with.(2 to 4 C)

“The ice-shelf could not withstand the extra melt and the glacier started to collapse as a result.”

Notice the bait and switch in wording. Glaices CALF all the time that is completely different than ‘collapsing’

  8. Robertv says:

Looks like they are preparing the Paris climate summit.

    https://www.rt.com/news/321875-paris-france-shooting-victims/

      • dave1billion says:

Yeah, there’s some serious sh_t going on over there right now. 60 dead and hundreds held hostage.

At least good old Al Gore is in Paris hosting a 24 hour climate telethon right now to “drum up attention” to show the world what is truly important.

Seriously, what’s up with Gore’s luck? It seems like every time he shows up to talk global warming there seems to be a blizzard. Or here when he’s trying to highlight the #1 existential threat to civilization and madmen show up and provide a devastating counterpoint with a real and present danger.

I pray that things don’t get worse over there but it looks really bad.

        • I had the same thought, Dave. It may be just bad luck but he doesn’t seem to be their best asset.

Al Gore hosting climate telethon from Paris’ Eiffel Tower

          http://news.yahoo.com/al-gore-hosting-climate-telethon-paris-eiffel-tower-163634484.html

        • rah says:

Dave this is gong to sound harsh but I don’t give a shit how bad they get there. The French made their own bed a long time ago and now they can friggin lay in it. In fact the worse they get there the better chance that enough of the brain dead here will wake up before the imbecile in the oval office makes us into another France or UK.

        • I pray for the innocent and suffering, and I pray that enough people fucking wake up.

        • dave1billion says:

rah, I’d agree with you but I hope we’re not at that point yet.

I know that we’ll have an attack like that here sooner or later, but I fear the response here would be more focused on gun control than anything else. I seriously examined myself (a little of the self criticism Colorado suggested earlier) after I had that thought and I really do believe it.

I believe the current administration would use any such attack to further their anti gun agenda, oblivious to the fact that such an attack would provoke a diametrically opposed response in most Americans.

        • rah says:

Well if you can’t tell my blood is up and quite frankly these days, when stuff like this happens, I am far more concerned about my own country than the people in any other because I see us slipping down the same path.

      • rah says:

Na this isn’t important at all. After all our president told us that Climate Change is the number one threat to modern civilization.

        • Besides, ISIL is contained.
          ———-
President Obama commented on ISIL on ABC’s “Good Morning America” earlier today:

“I don’t think they’re gaining strength. What is true is that from the start, our goal has been first to contain and we have contained them. They have not gained ground in Iraq, and in Syria they’ll come in, they’ll leave, but you don’t see this systemic march by ISIL across the terrain.”

    • Gail Combs says:

Stupid to tip their hands before the Paris Confab.

      • AndyG55 says:

        This just a pre-amble.

How many of the young, fit, single, male “refugees” are just waiting the chance to meet their 70 virgins !!

Authorities should be searching like mad for weapon caches etc.

Paris and the rest of Europe are going to be very hostile places over the next several years.

      • True, but they don’t have to be geniuses. Plain old determination will do. They hate America but that doesn’t mean they don’t understand English. And they only need to know two American authors to figure out what to do: Obama and Patton.

A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.

        George S. Patton

We will see soon if they miscalculated.

  9. As Ted said:

“Time to send NASA over there. It sounds like France could use some Muslim outreach.”

We have to use our best assets.
