I doubt that President Obama actually knew it, but according to data from Colorado University’s Sea Level Research Group, the rate of sea level rise was already slowing down. Today’s data

Yes Virginia, Satellite data does show that the rate of sea level rise is not going up faster and faster every year. But you won’t hear that from NOAA, Al Gore, the IPCC or anyone else associated with the climate change industry.
The units are wrong for acceleration. They should be mm2/yr. The rate would be the derivative, 2xmm/yr.
