Words Of Wisdom From George Washington

Long before we had treacherous scumbags in the White House, the US had wise and brave leaders.

“Truth will ultimately prevail where there are pains to bring it to light.”

“If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”

Yep. and Truth is a Person…”I am the way, the truth, and the light, says the Lord”, who made the world and all that is in it and keeps it going.

  3. Well, we definitely should value the freedom of speech; that’s for sure!

As for the future, God is in control (not Washington) and His ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts our thoughts. He has a plan for every occasion, and that plan is good, despite people’s common difficulty in understanding how and why it is.

Battles can be won by the referenced wisdom, but the end of the war requires more than that — more than anything that we’re capable of. And there is a tribulation that we must endure before the end of the war. Part of that tribulation involves doing the right thing, standing on principle against all odds, going all out, and experiencing major loss in return for our efforts.

A major difference between this idea and the counterfeit and Satanic religion of climate alarmism is that climate alarmism seeks to replace the truth about this with a physical, God-free equivalent in which the final supposed victory is of this world and this time. An idea with which, tragically, it seems Washington would have agreed, based on those quotes. (I say God-free because God has given us the overall plan, and that’s not it!)

So this trap is not new to climate alarmism. It is very old, and it has been capturing even great people for centuries. You see how powerful this trap can be? That’s because it appeals to the flesh, (which is very weak), and in so doing, it circumvents the spirit (which can be strong). Thus this trap can capture even the greatest among us, if such a person starts out their journey without the necessary foundation. The antidote to this trap is the prophecy of the Scripture, along with the necessary means to prove that the Scripture is authentic and true. (That latter part is the part that’s missing with most people; many read and study and think they understand, but they fall away because they never found the proof that it’s true! So in their view, “faith” continues to mean something that’s unproven and unprovable, the very antithesis of science; “faith” continues to be, in their view, a “dirty word” and the sign of an unkempt mind and spirit.)

You may not know all of this now, but you will!

    • Powers says:

As an agnostic, I neither agree with nor disagree with you hypothesis. Just can’t find any discernible proof of God, hence the need for a man made concept of FAITH. I envy people of Faith and I wonder at their certainty in, how did you put it: “He has a plan for every occasion, and that plan is good, despite people’s common difficulty in understanding how and why it is.” Believers in God seem to have no capacity to contemplate that maybe these words given down where no different than what the U.S Ruling Class through the UN backed IPCC is handing down today.

CAGW is simply a government born i.e. man made religion that adheres to the same tactics as all other religions, stimulate the amygdala of the great unwashed masses, kept ignorant by the ruling class, with fear and guilt in order to keep them obedient in their poverty and suffering. In all cases the claim of God or Gaia and benefit or injury to either is unknowable and reward accrues after you die. But you will never know until you arrive at your final destination and quite probably (a favorite term of the IPCC acolytes) not even then.

You may not know any of this for there is VOID. And in VOID their is neither a complaint department or return policy.

    • DD More says:

Two great quotes to think about.

“Secrecy is the keystone to all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy and censorship. When any government or church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, “This you may not read, this you must not know,” the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man who has been hoodwinked in this fashion; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, whose mind is free. No, not the rack nor the atomic bomb, not anything. You can’t conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him.” ? Robert A. Heinlein

“Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.”
      ? Robert A. Heinlein

Wish we could get a truthful answer by any Politician / Leader – to Be. What is your desire, to control or not?

    • I posted a reply here, but something about my reply seems to have gotten caught in a filter. There are no references to Leon Tr–sky!

  4. Steve Case says:

God helps those who help themselves – probably isn’t in scriptures anywhere and neither is Don’t give up the ship.

    • Steve, the problem with your general approach is not that it’s not in Scripture but that it’s contradicted by things that are!

There are of course things that we should not give up, but the question is, what exactly is represented by “the ship”?

There are also things that we are commanded to give up, and there is precious little effort made today to emphasize that fact. Principally because people who do have been the object of threats and retaliation. Cf. Revelation 11:3-12.

  5. Tony, if you get a moment after your arrival in Maryland, please see if you can release my comment on the French paper that was caught by the filter:

  6. Richard Keen says:

“It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.”

  7. Marsh says:

Prior to Obama, there were plenty of wise & brave Presidents ; “key to that integrity was – they loved the United States”.

  8. rah says:

Washington knew there was more to life than what one can see. That is why he had no problem declaring a national day of Thanksgiving. Jefferson would refuse. But Lincoln agreed and set the day the whole nation could observe it. And neither of them said a thing about Pilgrims or Indians in their proclamations because when they proclaimed the day they referred to the trials and tribulations and blessings concerning the events of their own times.

    Thanksgiving Proclamation
Issued by President George Washington, at the request of Congress, on October 3, 1789

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favor, able interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other trangressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

    Go. Washington

    • rah says:

Oh, and BTW, the Confederates observed Thanksgiving too. Even when Lee’s Army was starving and on it’s last legs trying to hold off Grants siege of Richmond. Some Richmond citizens cooked sweet potatoes and formed them into the shape of a Turkey and took their offerings down to the boys in the trenches.
