Miami Herald makes connection between hurricanes and money…..

With any luck this will narrow the cone of death.

NHC needs to create several new hurricane categories to handle situations like thunderstorm Don.
Category 0 hurricane, where wind speeds do not exceed 40 mph.
Category -1 hurricane, where wind speeds do not exceed 10 mph.

Category 0 hurricanes would trigger emergency parking of wind farm turbines.

It won’t have any impact on ACE or PDI, but it will provide a wonderful hockey stick for hurricane numbers.
