   What are the odds? If things were normal, this would be a 0.5^439 event. So we can be sure that this hasn’t happened before. If we filled 10^23 universes wall to wall with protons, this is more unlikely than one in that number. 🙂

   Therefore this is unprecedented. Or something like that…

     Of course this has happened before. There was an ice age 12000 years ago. The LIA would have had a greater anomaly. There is no such thing as ”normal” with climate/weather, change is ongoing.

   ‘Above the 1979-2008 observed average’ would be more correct. And the use of ‘normal’ when describing weather or climate is a pet peeve of mine, it plays into the alarmist hand by using their preferred wording.

   All the cold Arctic air flowed down to the bottom of the planet…
   because cold air sinks.
   It’s all due to the warming.
