Steven, just looking at Wiki (sorry, it’s quick and easy and just a first source, trying to find a list at the NHC is a week-long endeavor) it looks like longer periods of no-landfalls have occurred just going back to the 60’s let alone longer. – 1995-2004 (9 years), 1965-1975 (10 years) – What is your source for the longest stretch in history without a landfall?

Great, thanks… Looking at the Wiki entry again, the list I was looking at was just CAT 3-5 hurricanes so it was missing all the 1’s and 2’s.
I wonder when the insurance companies will start giving Florida home owners discounts?
