A favorite mantra of the left is : “the only purpose of assault rifles is to kill people”
There are a few tens of millions of legally owned semi-automatic rifles in the US. 99.99999% of those have never been used in a crime. You are more likely to be killed by a baseball bat than by a rifle in the US.
Tens of millions of people purchased these rifles at a typical cost of $1,000. Obviously they purchased these for reasons other than “killing people.” They are used for recreation, as well as being an fantastic crime and tyranny deterrent.
Schools need security, and it is a travesty that many don’t. Destroying the Bill of Rights is not a solution, and not an excuse for lefties to be idiots.

My pointed headed friends are still buying into this gun control nonsense. But once upon a time, I was a pointy head myself!
She cast an absentee ballot and then voted at the polls as well.
“Yes, I voted twice,” Richardson told WCPO-TV.
“There was absolutely no intent on my part to commit any voter fraud,” she insisted.
Authorities also are investigating if she voted in the names of four other people, too, for a total of six votes in the 2012 presidential election.

If they honestly believe this then the only reason for DHS to have 1.2 billion runs of ammo for their assault weapons is to …….?
Except for an extremely tiny subset of firearms ( example: the .22 cal rifles used in Biathlon competitions), every fire arm ever designed or manufactured is designed with only one thing in mind – to kill. More specifically, they are all designed to launch a projectile down range at a target, and if the target is a living organism, the designed purpose is to kill that organism.
How does one have a reasonable conversation on the topic with someone who exhibits a complete ignorance of the subject matter. Anyone who makes a statement such as this exhibits their ignorance.
So there is no confusion – I am refering to the assualt rifle comment, not to mkelly.
These new gun-control laws will serve only to disarm law-abiding citizens in Colorado. Criminals and potential criminals are laughing at the numskulls in the state legislature. They just created a huge new class of defenseless targets on university campuses.
It truly is difficult to cope with the imbecility of the gun-control zealots. Their lack of common sense is exceeded only by their willingness to deliver their fellow man into servitude at the hands of their own government.
Every one of the new guns restrictions is a violation of the Second Amendment.
I really believe it violates the 4th ( obvious ) 5th ( you have to let them in and show them your s**t, implicate yourself, and stand for punishment or confiscation with no warrant or indictment) and 6th ( Basically we are talking about a fishing expedition with no accusation) as well as the 10th amendment ( by virtue of infringing on the non-infringement specified in the 2nd) in the Bill of Rights.
