December 26, 2012 Cold Weather Across Europe, Asia Kills Hundreds
Cold weather in the past few days has sadly gone from severe to deadly. While unusually high snowfall has disrupted the travel plans of millions of Americans, freezing temperatures have taken the lives of hundreds of people from Central Europe to South Asia. The BBC reports that in Poland, 49 people have died; in Ukraine, 83; in Russia, 88; and in India, at least 93. The majority of those dead are the elderly and the homeless.
The EU believes that they control weather, and they also believe that they want to make it colder.
Up to 70,000 British jobs are at risk as a direct result of European carbon reduction targets, according to a report.
The policies have pushed up the cost of energy, threatening the vital mineral industries which deal in materials such as cement, chemicals, glass, ceramics and steel, the study claims.
It says the aluminium industry has been ‘virtually eradicated’ after closures in Anglesey and Northumberland, and blames policies which penalise ‘energy-intensive’ industries for emitting too much carbon dioxide.
As a result, firms in such industries, which employ 70,000 people, could be driven abroad where there are less stringent targets, costing jobs on our shores with no overall environmental benefits.

Not to be outdone, the new US Secretary Of State says that the US controls the climate and wants to punish US businesses.
They all belong in a mental institution. In more rational times, our leaders would be under 24 hour professional supervision and permitted to hold no sharp objects.

Suppose that a school district declared that they were a vaccine-free zone, and they had an epidemic of flu which the rest of the community did not suffer from.
Would they conclude that vaccines don’t work, and ban them for everybody?
The sane thing to do would be to give schoolchildren the same level of protection as the rest of the community.

The right to bear arms is derived from a right to freedom, security and defense. It has nothing to do with hunting.
Lefties don’t care about law, the Constitution or common sense. Everything with them is about irrational fear and a belief that totalitarian power will make them safe.
After Columbine, Bill Clinton proposed using armed policemen to protect schools in the same way that we protect our banks, businesses and neighborhoods. The NRA made the same common sense proposal and were met with screams of derision by nutcases on the left.
One of their justifications is that “there was an armed guard at Columbine and it didn’t help.” As usual, they have no idea what they are talking about.
There was an armed sheriff’s deputy sitting in a car in the front parking lot when the shooting broke out inside the school. There was also an armed motorcycle cop nearby writing a traffic ticket. By the time they got there, they couldn’t get within sixty yards of the shooter – far out of range for a pistol.
What they did accomplish was keeping the shooters occupied and allowing for many students to escape. They also kept the perpetrators from detonating the huge amount of explosives they were able to bring into the school – because there were able to get in without passing a guard.
Had there been an armed guard at the front door, it is very unlikely that Columbine would have happened.
On Friday National Rifle Association CEO and executive vice president Wayne LaPierre, in a statement to the press, hit back against calls for stricter gun laws that have been raised since the Sandy Hook shooting, arguing that “gun-free'” zones actually made schools less safe by inviting armed criminals. He called for an armed police officer or guard to be placed inside every elementary, middle and high school in the United States.
Nikitchyuk criticized the proposal. “Do you really want to have a shootout like in O.K. Corral in our schools?” he told CBS News.
The point that LaPierre was making is that the shooting would not have happened if there was armed security. Shooters go after gun-free zones because they know that they can do a lot of damage. Apparently Nikitchyuk feels that what happened at Sandy Hook is better than facing the very unlikely possibility of a gunfire exchange.
If Sandy Hook Elementary School had an armed policemen two weeks ago, 26 people would almost certainly still be alive. This should be obvious to even the most disordered mind.
Note the area inside the red circle. The top front third of the magazine is lower than the top back, to free up the bullet and allow the shell to enter the chamber. This is a real AR mag and is built for use with 5.56/.223 shells.
An Airsoft magazine does not have that feature, and is flat across the top.

As a responsible citizen, NRA member and CCW holder, I am very careful to abide by all gun laws – but apparently that requirement doesn’t apply to reckless liberals who think that everyone else is as mentally disordered as they are.

In other words, they are focused on 2% of Earth’s area and ignoring the record cold and snow in Alaska (part of the US last time I checked), Eastern Europe, Russia and Asia.
The rest of their claims are blatant lies and omissions. Temperatures were much hotter during the Dust Bowl. Sandy was a freak storm aggravated by some of the highest tides of the year and a rare blast of October Arctic cold.
They are counting mild winter temperatures as “extreme weather.” The US is experiencing a record lull in severe hurricanes and had one of the quietest years on record for tornadoes.
As far as heatwaves go, the 1930s were much hotter. The graph below shows record maximum temperatures set at all GHCN HCN stations.
But this comparison isn’t fair. Many new stations have been added and skew the data towards favoring recent records. An apples-to-apples comparison (using only continuously active stations since 1930) shows that 2012 barely cracked the top ten.
These people are destroying US history and should be held accountable.

NOAA is about to claim that 2012 was the hottest year ever in the US by a wide margin, but their date shows otherwise. If US temperatures average less than -2C for the rest of the year (which is quite likely) – then 1921 will remain the hottest year according to untampered GHCN HCN data.
