Measured temperature, sea level and other climate data has failed to produce any evidence of climate disaster, so the team has created a new diversion.
Instead of pointing to the raw data, they have someone write a fraudulent article or generate a fraudulent graph claiming that (sea level, temperature, hurricanes, floods, etc.) are increasing faster than expected, and then they refer to the article or graph – rather than the data itself.
I wish I had the quote, because this reminds me of a conference on AGW where it was pointed out that the observations were not matching the modeled projections. An alarmist in the crowd insisted that this clearly meant that the observations were wrong.

Lastly, there are some observations that although they are observed we know they can not be seen.
Foster and Rahmstorf do this best. They adjust the data to remove all events in the climate system that contribute to cooling by adjusting out their influences, then declare that the planet is warming exactly as predicted…
