NOAA claims that January temperatures in the US were average.
They made a little mistake though. Great Lakes ice extent was at an all-time record high for the date at the end of January.
Unless the freezing point of water has changed, NOAA is committing blatant, unabashed fraud with the US temperature data. They adjusted January temperatures upwards by almost six degrees relative to 1949, as an extension of a 3.4F/century data tampering trend over the last 70 years.
January was actually the 19th coldest on record in the US since 1895, with no trend since the start of records.
The US is rather larger than the Great Lakes

This was a consequence of their data manipulation from several years ago which, as you showed, actually artificially INCREASED US temperatures by nearly a degree. It’s now been exposed and there’s no way for them to correct it without exposing themselves. I suppose they hope no one notices.
I heard the same report.
The explanation was that California and Alaska were so much warmer than usual. It makes me wonder how they average out the entire US. it seems they are over weighting the warm areas.
Alaska isn’t included in their calculations. The positive anomaly in California was much smaller than the negative anomaly in the Midwest.
And the negative anomaly in the east.

Well, since the alarmist world began after the coldest years on record (1977, 1978 & 1979), it has warmed. Big deal!. The whole stinking global warming ripoff scam is largely based on one huge cherry pick. The rest on data “adjustment”.

“One effect of the persistently cold winter of 2013-2014 is showing up on the world’s largest group of freshwater lakes.
According to an analysis by NOAA’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory, ice covered 88.4 percent of the Great Lakes on February 13. Not since early 1994 has ice been so widespread on the Great Lakes.
This is an abrupt turn around from the past four winters, during which the peak ice coverage remained around 40 percent or less. As you can see in the graph below, the 40-year average is just over 51 percent.”
The answer is simple really. Our Govt under dem control want to pump tons o money into any organization that can support global warming. These so called theorists are manipulating the data to prove, they need more money to do more studies and more research. Its all about the money.
