Unbelievable Heat On This Date 85 Years Ago

Bernie Sanders just had his 75th birthday this week. But had he been born 10 years earlier he would have experienced this.  Two thirds of the US was over 90 degrees on September 10, 1931 and Minnesota reached 108 degrees.

You have come up with heatwaves that even I didn’t know about!

The 1930’s are the gift that keeps on giving. 108 in Minnesota on September 10th is unreal. Even the “off years” produced some unbelievable heatwaves.

Off topic, but I was looking at both the European and GFS models. They are showing very cold and windy weather in the general area of the Ship of Fools by around the middle of next week. Snow likely! Probably widespread re-freezing with temperatures down close to 20 degrees.

If I am correct in my assessment, they should pull the plug on this nonsense right away. There is no need for their machismo to turn this fiasco into a suicide mission.

That is why I had posted the Resolute weather report. It is ~ 100 miles east of Lancaster Sound their only way out. Tonight is below freezing, snow and windy enough to cause rough seas in Resolute. I am not sure if that goes for the rest of Lancaster Sound.

They have also got the problem that now Canada charges money for rescues. They have gotten sick of footing the bill for the nonsense although with Trudeau that amy have changed.

    • AndyG55 says:

If they can get through Lawrence Sound in the next 3 or 4 days they should be ok, so long as they don’t run out of FOSSIL FUEL.

They are chewing up that fossil fuel, that is for sure.

      • Gail Combs says:

Oh yes, the hull speed for sailing was a lot less then the speed they have been going lately using a motor (~16 to 17 knots) They have turned their sailboat into a motor speed boat to beat the ice just like they cut corners and did not cross the line to beat the ice. Typical leftists cheating is fine as long as they ‘win’. Rules, honesty and morality are only useful to beat the other guy over the head and do not pertain to them.

Rud had given the hull speed a few weeks ago and it was under 10 knots IIRC.

        • AndyG55 says:

Not quiet as fast as a twin engine hi-performance speed boat.

I can see the guys saying

“”I’m Givin’ Her All She’s Got, Captain!””

          Scotty would be proud.

    • Steven Parker says:

It’s going to be close. *IF* they can maintain their current speed, they will be in Baffin Bay in 48 hours. *BUT*, there’s an area of 1-3/10 ice, and a little 4-6/10 ice up ahead. Sunday is likely to be the make or break day.

      • AndyG55 says:

Charts like that make it pretty darn easy, don’t they.

Either go around the left and over the top, or squeeze through along the coast on the lower edge.

No time spent searching for a way past it.

Now man made CO2 is changing the magnetic fields!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. OrganicFool says:

North Korea just tested a nuke, but CO2 is the most dangerous thing on the planet. Really. Trust me.

  5. TA says:

“The 1930’s are the gift that keeps on giving.”

Isn’t that the truth! Instead of studying tree rings, they should study old newpaper reports if they want the real scoop on the weather.

“Even the “off years” produced some unbelievable heatwaves.”

I don’t think there were any “off” years during the decade of the 1930’s. When the alarmists are describing their CAGW nightmares, they are describing the 1930’s.

Of course, we are nowhere near the 1930’s today. Just look around. Yet the Climate Criminals say this is the “Hottest Year Evah!” What do we look like, a bunch of idiots?
