Which one do green focus on? They focus on the invisible non-pollutant, instead of the actual critical pollution problem.

  1. Ken Barber says:

They have never cared about the environment. Theirs has been a (Left-wing) POLITICAL movement from the beginning. I know, because I was one of them on the first Earth Day.

  2. Gail Combs says:

Conservationists like you and I and the other regular visitors to this blog, care about the environment.

Environmentalists care about rigidly controlling their fellow humans right down to determining what they can eat and how much.

  3. Climatism says:

Add to ‘real pollution’, the decimation of Indonesian and Malaysian rainforests via palm oil plantations to placate Europe’s penchant for biofuels.

    • Gail Combs says:

Not to mention the fact that corn, the primary biofuel source here in the USA is very hard on the soil. Corn is a ‘big feeder’ and since the plant are spaced far apart, promotes erosion.

  4. FergalR says:

You’re clearly some kind of philistine Mr. Steven Goddard – if that is your real name.

This photo was taken outside the window of IPCC chairman Rajendra Pachuri; railroad engineer – and therefore the world’s chief climastrologist – while he was typing out the even more degenerate sequel to his emetic soft-coft porn debut novel “Return to Almora“, whilst furiously beating himself off with the hand he signs off on the IPCC reports with.

If you can’t accept the decrees of 97% of octogenarian chronic masturbators then you’re going to be left behind.

    • Gail Combs says:

Actually it was in 1972 when Maurice Strong and the UN ‘organized them’ and suborned them into useful idiots.

  6. philjourdan says:

I was down in Panama a few years back. That picture you have of Indonesia? Well, it is not that bad down there. But only barely.

  7. mjc says:

The environmental movement, at least the ‘front office’ members of it, NEVER did care. They cared about getting the ‘average Joe’ to ‘care’…and express that care by sending in a donations. Then grants started to be made and even that pretense went away. It became a big, profit seeking (funny how that could be, with all those groups being ‘non-profit’ organizations) crony corporatist cash cow ‘business’.

    Example…

The Nature Conservancy uses land acquisition as a principal tool of its conservation effort. The Conservancy helps to protect approximately 15 million acres in the United States.

That is an area almost the size of West Viirginia!

And with an average price/acre (US average) of $1200 that comes in at a whopping $18 BILLION in value…

    And that’s just 1 group…

    • cdquarles says:

Nature Conservancy, to the extent they are doing with the land what they promised when they bought it, is one group I have and will continue to support. It is the folk like Sierra Club that worry me.

      • mjc says:

Yes, the NC may be doing what they say AND may be one of the most open about their assets…but it just makes it easier to show that they have quite a large asset portfolio and are not ‘poor’. They are rather well connected, well funded and have an asset portfolio, that if it were held by ‘big business’ would be the target of the libs day in and day out.

  8. bit chilly says:

this is what boils my piss . the one sure way to improve the environment in third world countries is to provide access to reliable power . it allows the infrastructure we all take for granted to be built, improves the incomes of the people resulting in reduced birth rates and gives people the time to think about their environment rather than just surviving on a daily basis.

only trouble ,the money is being wasted mitigating cagw ,which as tony shows on a daily basis only actually occurs within computer models and the deluded minds of the activists.

  9. Jimmy Haigh. says:

Looks like bits of Mumbai too.

  10. Yosemite Trash says:

Trash is building up everywhere. Was in Yosemite last week and saw trash everywhere on the ground. We have all become a bit blind to it ….unfortunately.

  11. northernont says:

Perhaps they can take all the billions of dollars spent paying people like Mann and Schmidt to study a non-existent problem and sink it into organizations such as this
    http://www.blacksmithinstitute.org/
where the money will actually do some real good.
Someone should remind DiCaprio that this is what real pollution looks like.
You will notice at that site if you click on the partners link you will notice the absence of the top environmental organizations like WWF, Greenpeace, Sierra Club etc who raise hundreds of millions of dollars each year and they do not contribute one cent to this organization who actually have programs that clean up real pollution. Instead these hypocritical eco-nazis run around Canada and the US, some of the cleanest countries on Earth trying to shut down Industry.
    Sad.

  12. Max says:

The really worrying pollution does not look like anything. No matter how appalling the picture from India is, it will only have a local impact. The idea that it poses anything like the threat to humanity as does global warming is delusional and ridiculous. Yes, you cannot photograph CO2 in the atmosphere, but you can sure as hell photograph its consequences. You might as well argue that chicken pox is a more serious illness than cancer because it brings you out in spots and cancer doesn’t!

  13. Bob Knows says:

No left wing politician is going to pocked a billion dollars from cleaning up a polluted river in Indonesia. DUH!

  14. Jimbo says:

When Did Environmentalists Quit Caring About The Environment?

There’s no money in cleaning up that river, but there is in fighting a trace gas. 🙂

  15. Gamecock says:

“When Did Environmentalists Quit Caring About The Environment?”

When their cause was successful, and they had no exit strategy. So they veered off into the surreal.

  16. au1corsair says:

Don’t forget that the Sheriff of Nottingham was an Environmentalist and Robin Hood was a thieving poacher! Go Environmentalist!

  17. srnaess says:

Norwegian here (never seen a coal plant) : Is that a coal plant burning? No smoke? I have heard there’s mostly CO2 and water vaper from those chimneys, but that picture looked almost too nice.
