NOAA’s climate people claim that sea level is rising 3.2 mm/year. Their sea level people say it is just over half that.
the absolute global sea level rise is believed to be 1.7-1.8 millimeters/year.
They probably should talk to the actual scientists who study sea level rise before lying to the public.
But their fraud is much worse than it seems. They used the same gravity ice loss calculations for Greenland which NASA just showed to be wrong in Antarctica, and they ignored the last four years. This year Greenland is seeing record ice gain and record cold.

Greenland melting is cyclical. By cherry-picking years of their choice, NOAA is defrauding the public by trying to convince them that a non-existent problem exists.
But their fraud gets even worse. Even if their bogus claim of 215 billion tons per year were correct, that would account for less than 20% of their claimed 3.2 mm/year. The majority of their 3.2 mm/year is due to fraud, not Greenland.

If Greenland melt really did accelerate as portrayed in the graphic above, AND the rate of rise slowed, then the ocean must be absorbing less heat from the atmosphere.
Otherwise there’d be much more sea level rise, due to thermosteric expansion.
Hence, if they’re going to claim Greenland melt’s accelerating, it ruins their number one explanation for the missing heat of the global warming pause, that it hides in the ocean. They can’t have it all ways.

Great minds think a like. We are all old enough to see the horrid degradation in the school system. I first noticed it as a sophomore in high school. It was that bad.
The majority of my former teaching colleagues would not go into teaching again for many reasons.
My daughter and son in law,, have six children ages 2 to 16, He quit teaching this year after 25 years. They have chosen to home school. I was against it at first, but more and more I am seeing many reasons why. However, for them it was a huge financial sacrifice.
My daughter has degrees in biology and environmentalism It was she who steered me into becoming skeptical of AGW.

If CO2 is pollution then do you think we should remove ALL CO2 from the environment. If they have any idea of what CO2 is they will sputter if they don’t then tell them If CO2 is removed all live on the planet dies therefore it can’t be a pollutant any more than water can be a pollutant.

I once made a progressive Boulder woman really mad when I said that all nature is chemical. She screamed at me that it is not. I said the whole universe is chemical and asked her if she knows about the periodic table of chemical elements. She thought about it briefly and told me that’s not the chemistry she’s talking about.

Total mass balance is still different from the surface mass balance. So it is good SMB is positive but it doesn’t mean ice is accumulating.
Glacial flow is a response to excess surface accumulation. If surface accumulation reduces, then glacial flow will reduce too. It is a pointless straw man argument to discuss total mass balance, because no one is measuring it accurately.

From what I can see we are already seeing the start of this cold period. It is RECORD SNOW that heralds the start of cold climate not low temperatures. The recent switch from zonal to meridional jets allowing the ‘polar vortex’ arctic air to mix with warm moist southern air causes this record snow. That is why the Laurentide Ice Sheet follows the same contours as the ‘polar votex’. We have also seen very cool summers the last three years here in mid NC with the white clover blooming through the summer. It does not tolerate temps over ~90 to 95F. Plants do not lie even though ClimAstrologists at NOAA do so continually.

Traditionally all sea level rise has been attributed to glacial melt and thermal expansion of water.
(Then there is the 10% add on because it is thought that land masses are slowly rebounding.)
I have recently seen studies where as much as 42% of sea level rise has been due to surface run off of water which was formerly in aquifers. That, I believe, is a serious environmental concern.
One question I have about that 42% from aquifer pumping: Does that include the land subsistence caused by the disappearing aquifers? In places like the middle east, that subsistence could be pretty heavy. Saudi Arabia has all but emptied their aquifers, trying to grow wheat in the desert.
