The US just went a record 12 years without a major hurricane, and that was just weather. But three days of storms are climate. The usual band of fraudsters are claiming all the rain from Harvey is due to a warmer atmosphere, and they are back to their same failed forecasts of “more intense hurricanes in the future.”

I used to live near that intersection, and bought my first house there. I got married there. It used to be mainly pine forest, but urbanization turned the forest into pavement, and the water has no place to go – so it floods.
Had any of these scientists actually checked the data, they would have known that Texas is cooling, and that warmer temperatures are associated with drought. Rain is associated with cooler weather. Alaska is the second wettest state in the US.
Texas set the world record for heavy rain in 1935 – at the peak of the Dust Bowl with CO2 below 310 PPM. On Memorial Day Weekend, 1935 – Woodward Ranch, Texas got 22 inches of rain in less than three hours. In 1979, Texas got 43 inches of rain in 24 hours.
Colorado got nearly that much a few hours earlier, and we are nowhere near the ocean.

As far as the claims that hurricanes will get stronger, they have been saying this same idiocy for thirty years when they predicted 230 MPH hurricanes.
