Arctic Melt Season Just About Done

There was almost no change in Arctic sea ice cover between August 24 and August 25. Red shows loss, green shows gain.

There are a series of cyclones forming over the ice, which will spread it. Temperatures have also dropped to well below freezing, so new ice will begin to form within a week.

Al Gore and John Kerry say that the Arctic will be ice-free this year.

    Yep, it’s ashame this summer’s heat was not stronger or could last a bit longer, so that it could all just melt away. Then when all the shouting and whining has finish everyone might realize how Arctic ice is very inconsequential.
    We might then go back to helping nature produce more life sustaining CO2.
