In 1922, the Arctic was experiencing radical climate change, unheard of heat, and glaciers were disappearing.

According to NASA’s top climate fraudster, Gavin Schmidt, 1922 was one of the coldest years on record.

So much for the alarmist doomsayers who said they would not make it.
Mr Mosher,
Hudson bay company did it a few times back in the 1930’s without modern navigational aids,
All a bit of a yawn really.
Repeat after me Richard:
“Oh no they didn’t!”
and repeat after me, yes they did. All documented.
A “polar circumnavigation” in one summer season?
Where’s the documentary evidence?
“A “polar circumnavigation” in one summer season?”
A WHY BOTHER exercise except for propaganda purposes.
Pretending there is reduce sea ice by trying everything they can to avoid it, as YOU have ably pointed out.
Evasion of the sea ice was their aim, and they failed because there was FAR MORE than they thought there would be.
And thanks to your harping on, this has now been exposed for what it was. If you hadn’t bleated and pushed this, no one would have looked more deeply and found the scam below it.
Well done Jimbo, you have ruined it for them :-)
Jim , i see,
no, only the North west passage back in the 1930s without navigational aids,
Do you think based on this that they could have done a polar circumnavigation in one summer season if they had todays navigational aids, after all the Russians had used the Northern route in the 1930s to take ships through so seems like the whole arctic route was open.
You should stay away Mosh. Jimbo is already doing more than enough damage to the Arctic sea ice scarers cause.
The Scam Bros will only make things worse.
Moshpup,
Did you ever figure out how much of the trip they MOTORED as opposed too their plan to SAIL?!?!!? I believe they used over a one tank of fuel which would be quite a bit. Why don’t you get back to us on that.
Since they are the ones who claimed they would SAIL I believe it is a reasonable question. Especially since they could not have made it otherwise.
snicker
Fuel tank was 2000 litres, iirc…
That’s one HECK of a lot of FOSSIL FUEL !
In addition to being off-topic, “alarmist doomsayers” looks to me like projection.
Good thing they didn’t use Amundsen’s route or Larsen’s 1944 route, choosing instead the very most southern route they could
Turned out to be the ONLY way through, all the other routes were impassable because of TOO MUCH sea ice. But they KNEW that from satellite sea ice charts, didn’t they Jimbo
If you wanted to show sea ice was declining , you would at least use Larsen’s 1944 route.
Anything else is MEANINGLESS.
Oh no they weren’t:

Fury & Hecla Strait was like Hyde Park Corner this year.
10th Sept
TOTALL BLOCKED
1oth Sept
TOTALLY BLOCKED
Even the pass through Lawrence with nearly blocked , as they found out.
Certainly they could never have taken Amundsen’s route or Larsen’s 1944 route could they Jimbo, you clown.
Proving that the very most southern route was open… just
So what !!!
MEANINGLESS.
The old alarmists are so desperate they have to pretend events from the past never happened.
Really creepy.
Whereas in actual fact you pretend that events from the past that never happened did happen.
shame they wrote about them eh Jim?
I don’t think they either proved or disproved anything about anything.
Andy DC,
They proved that the ice has NOT almost disappeared as it held them up for a couple weeks at the beginning and was present during their dash to safety in the “open” NW Passage. Yup, they proved that the alarmists have been lying a lot.
Think they will be back next year to show there is less ice than this year?!?!
snicker
I’m curious why they didn’t follow the announced route. They were to sail south of Novaya Zemlya but they sailed the north side.
Because when the time came the Kara Sea was almost entirely ice free.
The shortest distance between any two points is…….
Then why didn’t they use the shortest distance in the NW Passage, Jimbo ??
Shortest passage looks like this…
At the risk of repeating myself ad nauseam²
https://youtu.be/g9JHSs38G-Y
Your childish youtube links are meaningless.
WHY didn’t they take the shortest route?
Answer the darn question. !!!
Watch the video!
Strange too that when they slowed at times to 4km/hr for ice they had a burst of speed to 21.89km/hr. Made me wonder how/why they sped with dangerous ice around.
Everybody has to see this..

“Bizarre” would be a good word to use… or maybe “trippy”.
What has that guy been smoking !!
Note in the verbage they don’t even know how pH works and think higher pH is more acidic
Paul Homewood has a post which is relevant here.
A List of the Full Transits of the Northwest Passage
As has been stated in earlier comments the North West Passage is the difficult one, as Paul Homewood says before the 1960s the main driver was exploration without modern aids to dodging ice and bad weather.
Thanks for the heads up Ben!
Perhaps you wouldn’t mind asking Paul to release my comment from purgatory for me?

FAO AndyG,
The CIS ice chart for Fury and Hecla Strait on September 16th 2016.
Totally impassable? Not!
Oh… are they still in the Arctic, Jimbo?
Better contact them and tell them that now Lawrence is blocked they can go through Fury. Ben will be pleased he doesn’t have to go back to Cambridge Bay.
Seems Admiral Jimbo knew more about the passability of Fury than the crew did.
You have your chance next year Jimbo. Prove us all wrong. ;-)
You have your chance long before then Andy!
Again with the surfing link which is absolutely nothing to do with taking a boat around the Arctic
Are you trying to self-gratify or something?
If so, wash your hands when you finished.
Nice surfing Jim,
if we are not careful they will be diving at the North Pole
like they are here back in , oops, early 1960s .

You are very kind Richard.
However do you recall that we’ve already been through all this submarine nonsense?

That’s Nazare, Portugal. Not much ice there methinks.
Interesting submarine geology creates those waves.
Since you’re evidently a surfing aficionado Sara, this is especially for you:
