I took these pictures on New Years Day, east of Phoenix. It was bitter cold. The current forecast is for this area along Hwy 87 to receive well over a foot of snow in the next 48 hours.
I used to live in Sedona, when CO2 was below 350 PPM. Twenty inches of snow there is incomprehensible. I never saw more than two or three inches.
Of course you mean “feet of global warming.” What are you a racist/white cisgendered climate denier?!? /sarc
Great pictures, Tony.
I may be too curious about too many things, but what’s going on in the one with the oddly diverging highways? Beautiful picture… I’m trying to make sense of the lighting and landscape.
360 degree panorama projected in 2D space
Now it makes sense… thanks.
Dulles VA (IAD) just passed its average snowfall for the season (23 inches). We are getting 4-6 inches today followed by a coating of ice. As is typical of Virginia winters, the snow and ice will be followed by temps in the mid-60’s by Sunday.
14 trees down on my lot due to recent ice storms here in nearby WV. Above average snow for the winter as well.
Snow in Pasadena and Malibu today.
No joke:
Yes, That’s Snow You Just Saw In Los Angeles: https://laist.com/2019/02/21/yes_thats_snow_you_just_saw_in_los_angeles.php
I flew over the Az desert last night coming into Las Vegas. I couldn’t believe the amount of snow in the desert mountains. I looked amazing.
Heavy snowfall pushes Twin Cities to February record, and more to come
The metro set the new mark after 7.8 inches fell today, closing schools and bogging down air traffic at MSP.
By Paul Walsh Star Tribune FEBRUARY 20, 2019 — 2:10PM
VideoVideo (01:41) : Minneapolis and St. Paul school districts called off classes and authorities warned drivers to stay off the roads as the snow piled up.

Back in Dec, Phoenix got hit with some cold/freezing temps….my tree’s apparently got some damage on the leaves(haven’t seen them yet)….and as you stated, I see temps forecast to go to 30F…. CO2 has abandoned us in N.A.
Tony,
You have a great eye. I enjoy witnessing your extraction of every bit of data available from the weird combination of that very small sensor and very huge lens. Thank you for the eye candy.
I have a question. The second image is weird. Is it a flattened 360°? What’s the story?
I think he is using some sort of drone for the shots.
Takes it up to a couple of hundred feet, then slowly rotates it or the mounted camera through 360 degrees.
Rather clever, and an impressive level of control. :-)
I forgot to mention – the rest of the images in this series are awe-inspiring. Simply beautiful. That last one (before the mini-Sasquatches and before the aerial vid), painterly as it is, looks like a landscape painting. Gorgeous. Excellent framing.
FYI the twin cities of Minneapolis and st. Paul Minnesota have set an all-time record for February snowfall with a week left to go.. it’s almost March and next week is forecast to be bitter cold here in snowy Minnesota
FYI the twin cities of Minneapolis and st. Paul Minnesota have just set an all-time record for February snowfall with one week to go
For the fun of it…
Cool tonight here in Phoenix – rain is forecast for tomorrow but right now it’s clear. My cell phone barometer says 29.8 in Hg – that’s a falling value so maybe a storm’s coming in. It’s cold. If it rains here, it will be falling as snow in Sedona.
Question: Doesn’t CO2 warm the climate? Why all the cold here in Phoenix. Wasn’t it suppose to be becoming uninhabitable hot in Phoenix? The world’s least sustainable city according to this author who hails from New York.
https://www.amazon.com/Bird-Fire-Lessons-Worlds-Sustainable/dp/0199828261
Here’s an excerpt from the book’s description: “Ross argues that if Phoenix is ever to become sustainable, it will occur more through political and social change than through technological fixes. Ross explains how Arizona’s increasingly xenophobic immigration laws, science-denying legislature, and growth-at-all-costs business ethic have perpetuated social injustice and environmental degradation.”….sounds like a Hillary campaign speech…
“xenophobic immigration laws”
are responsible for the degredation of environment?
And i thought:The less people the less stress for the evironment.
Seems such laws are the co2 of laws and can cause the most impossible and illogical things.
(but at least Ross was able to put all primitive virtue signalling buzzwords progressives like to hear in a single sentence.
An impressive ego is hiding here behind fake altruism.
New Orleans would get my vote for the least sustainable in the United States. Sooner or later in one way or another old man river will win no matter what man does. Phoenix most certainly lives on the edge of the long term drought precipice though it probably wouldn’t die out right just down size. But New Orleans? When the river wins, it’s done.
Tony, please contact me. I have an idea to go with Scott Adams’ “Tony Heller Challenge”.
It’s kinda mathematical, and you will probably enjoy it.
Thanks
Relative just called me to let me know their day care may be closed next couple of days due to snow. They live in Las Vegas.
Just a 2 hour delay for the school buses here in central Indiana. For us it was rain to freezing rain to snow to sleet and back to rain. By 15:00 the couple inches of snow that had fell was gone. Melted by 40 F and washed away by rain.
BTW I don’t know what has happened but freight dropped off suddenly. I did the run Monday and haven’t been out since. I noticed on Monday afternoon when I got back that parking spaces for trailers loaded a ready to leave out on runs were unusually empty. So I’ve gotten a longer break than I ever thought I would this week.
What happens over on twitter, TH? I tried looking at your twitter count and most of your tweets look like the following (image below).
Tony,
Just watched Scott Adams video where he mentions your “Top 5” skeptic arguments. Can you do a posting on these?
Hey Tony this delay thing seems to be getting worse!
Yep it sure is a PITA not knowing if or when your post will appear.
I hope Tony can do something about it.
What is causing it? Spam filter perhaps ???
It causes questions, comments to look out of place. Or redundant, like my question above.
This video provides a good explanation on the increases in extreme temperatures. You should watch it before saying dumb things like “If global warming’s real, why is it snowing?”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kpigok-lVK4
Your video provides zero good explanations. Your video is propaganda meant to fool the ignorant, and it worked! LOL
That is an appeal to: don’t believe the observations, but believe us instead. That only works for so long, until the observations deviate so much from the theory and prediction, that they finally catch up to you:
That just happened to NASA two months ago:
Wintertime Arctic Sea Ice Growth Slows Long-term Decline: NASA
https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2018/wintertime-arctic-sea-ice-growth-slows-long-term-decline-nasa
Once you get beyond the “newly discovered” gobbledygook of the “negative feedback mechanism” (as there always is a “newly discovered” something or other to explain observations that don’t conform to predictions)
The bizarre ‘warming hole’ that defies climate change in the US by causing some areas to get COLDER instead of hotter
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-5392183/The-bizarre-warming-hole-defies-climate-change.html
you can delve into the NASA “fine print”:
“This increase in growth rate might last for decades, a new study accepted for publication in Geophysical Research Letters found.
That rate of growth has increased and may continue to do so for several more decades in some regions of the Arctic; in the coming decades, we could have an ice pack that would on average be only around 3.3 feet thick in October, but could experience up to 5 feet of ice growth over the winter.
“This negative feedback mechanism increasing ice growth is unlikely to be sufficient in preventing an ice-free Arctic this century,” Petty and his colleagues concluded.
So now we are looking at an ice free arctic by 2100. (lol)
Some things flame out spectacularly, but the Ice Free Arctic predictions of Al Gore etal over the last decade have seemed to have died in the NASA “Fine Print”.
Anyway, it is nice to see NASA finally put that canard to rest, as the skeptics said they would all along. (yawn)
Wow. A bit of CYA in spades, and perhaps preparation for a man-made cooling scam. They need a crisis. If only they would admit to all the data tampering done to fit their warming hyped-pothesis.
It is “Snowing” today in RIALTO CALIFORNIA, about 45 air miles east of Downtown Los Angeles !
1st time since 1990 !!!
Snow is beginning to move into the Valleys, this is a record event…
Un-Real !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Relax, this is all predicted by the theory of Global Warming. We just need to make it through a few more decades of this:
There’s snow in LA, Inland Empire and people don’t know how to react
https://www.sbsun.com/2019/02/21/theres-snow-in-la-inland-empire-and-people-dont-know-how-to-react/
Then, according to the Climate Models, in 80 years hence:
Sierra snowpack could drop significantly by end of century
A future warmer world will almost certainly feature a decline in fresh water from the Sierra Nevada mountain snowpack. Now a new study that analyzed the headwater regions of California’s 10 major reservoirs, representing nearly half of the state’s surface storage, found they could see on average a 79 percent drop in peak snowpack water volume by 2100.
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/12/181211090639.htm
And if that does not happen there are still a few more “negative feedback” mechanisms to be discovered. 82 years is a lot of time to find these – and cash those lucrative clime research paychecks meantime.
don’t look now, but Havre MT 10 day forecast averages 20-25 F below seasonal averages. both high and low. how many weathers per climate?
Tony,
Just in case you haven’t seen it, Scott Adams cites you as the top skeptic:
https://www.pscp.tv/ScottAdamsSays/1gqGvnVYBYBGB
He flips is white board and starts talking about you around minute 9:50.
BTW, I would recommend that your response to his Top 5 challenge be conditional on him concurrently getting his most convincing alarmist to put forward their Top 5 list for debunking CAGW.
