  1. Paul in Sweden says:

With everyone understanding that climate changes and the recognition that both floods & droughts will persist. Other than the 100s of billions lost to computer modeling, gender climate change studies & science communications studies(SPIN for new funding) has been spent on building dams, reservoirs, floodgates, buy back of privately held properties in flood zones(created exclusively to feather the tax pool that self-perpetuates the lard bottomed local politicians)?

There Are Going To Be Droughts – Build Dams, Reservoirs, Pipe Lines & Pumping Stations.

There Are Going To Be Floods – Build Flood Gates, Dams, Storm Drains, Levies Etc, Etc, Etc.

Decades go by and I see no action on real solution.

Let us have less funds put towards studying the possible effects of Global Warming on one-legged Inuit lesbians & the communication of the science hoax and more money on building dams, reservoirs, pumping stations, flood gates & levies.

  2. California Jack says:

I live in Northern California. So we got a bit of rain and snow. Is your point that California is not in a drought? Really? Such nonsense does not help your credibility or your cause.

  3. phodges says:

Thanks Steven yes the skiing is great right now. Mammoth, June, Tahoe, all got snow…it is still cold and lightly snowing!

That said, the California drought is all to real. This is a welcome start but this storm is the first substantial precipitation since December 2012. Beneath the 1 or 2 feet of fresh powder is either bone dry soil or a few inches of man made snow.

Just yesterday we were hauling hose through knee deep powder on a vegetation fire…still just not enough moisture to slow them down.

  4. nomoregore says:

I hereby predict that this particular CA drought won’t last. The last two were, what, 7 years? So THAT is possible. But CA has lots of water. There’s a big giant pool of it off one entire side of the state. What CA lacks are rational public officials to respond appropriately to the situation. They’re probably still denying the central valley any water to save the Delta smelt.

  5. Andy Oz says:

More proof that Californians school teachers are pretty strange!
    What about the children?
